I offered to install them a decent Forum Software and / or help with web hosting as they kept using cheap / free stuff.

I didn't need to hack it as they had some random home-made forum software that kept breaking and it was hosted on some random personal hosting I guess.

I didn't want anything for helping them, I liked GMK.

Saw Smiles at Tranmere-with His son. Still unhappy about Stans.

Can anyone remember we had a GMK football team and played WBA & they played a skysports presenter?

Porky played and a few others.

Also that was the first time I met Bob Bones.

I gave a lift to him after the game and after he got out he walked straight into a lamppost....

I was right, however the entire move, arrangements, plans & overall management was a complete disaster. Aided and abetted by on field misery. We remain the only club to have failed to benefit from a stadium upgrade. Everything was in place. But we decided to f*ck the whole thing up, also f*ck up everything on the pitch and then fail to be able to pay for it resulting in the current situation, and that’s down to management, not the stadium.

Derby
Stoke
Southampton
Wigan
Leicester
Brighton
Hull

none ‘bigger’ than us historically, some of these just as isolated as stadiums, but we’re the only ones who have had zero benefit. That’s the club’s fault for 20 years of mismanagement. Kicked off with the bridging loan, then the stupid seating plan and pricing, releasing shots of the ground with WBA coloured seats, all the 3 yr plan padded seat nonsense- I don’t recall one ‘sensible’ decision about our ground in the whole time we were there. Success and good management is what let us down, not the Ricoh Arena.

FTMatty reporting for duty!

I miss GMK, although I was an admin for the last 2-3 years of its existence, and I don't miss that! Like herding mentally impaired cats.

Met plenty of you over the years at various games.

I played in the Hull game when we were already at the Ricoh, Harrogate played in central midfield with me then too. I did the running for two that today, he was a tomato after 10 minutes.

There was nothing quite like logging in when getting to work to find a screen full of weirdos, sexual deviants, threats, the odd football thread, wind ups, and not being sure if about 2 people were responsible for the whole lot or if it was a new crop of psychos joining up.

I’d say in my time on gmk without doubt Bob Bones had the biggest impact- several years of murkage let loose on an unsuspecting rivals.net

An all time classic. As was the look on Smiler’s face when he was explaining what happened when he opened an attachment that Bones had put up.

Knowing him personally, that really wouldn’t surprise me. And I’d be surprised if he’s not here under a different login.

Was that when someone took offence to the
"let's face it. And I'm not being funny. I mean no disrespect, but you're a c**t. You're a c**t now, and you've always been a c**t. And the only thing that's going to change is that you're going to be an even bigger c**t. Maybe have some more c**t kids."
line.
Which to be fair if you haven't seen the film you probably wouldn't find funny.
Followed by pages of abuse and of course "I retract the bit i said about your c**t fucking kids."
