Released after not making 1 first team appearance in 3 years for Leicester.
Yes he is probably a lot richer but another example of someone jumping up the leagues too soon.
Will probably become a league 1/2 regular
And NO, I don’t want him back.

He signed for his boyhood club in the Premier league, I can't blame him at all. We were heading into league 2. Imagine the regret he would have had if he never gave it a shot.

Never rated him when he was here. Half decent in bleak times. Nothing against him.

I will always remember his Wembley goal, but when we sold him I was quite happy. I never thought he was premier league quality and we got a decent sum. Wish him all the best, but wouldn't want him back.

Saying that. He’d probably be a big part of the squad now if he stayed.

It’s a fair point, only time will tell if it’s a decision he will come to regret depending on how the next 10 years in his career play out

Was George Thomas the one who didn’t turn up to training and forced the move?

No. That was Ben Stevenson who had his dad phone in sick for him.

Ben Stevenson was the one whose Mum (allegedly) was slagging of MR in public because he didn’t think her boy was the next Messi.

Couple more. But I was trying to do my usual world class/shite posts, but with a twist that he’s just shite. But someone got in between my posts.

You'd normally have had time, but it's busier on here than most 'end of season' breaks. You'll have to practise speeding up those 'gamer' fingers!

George Thomas should’ve stayed with us when we got relegated. I said this at the time, and despite the nice pay packet, he’s wasted 3 years of his career playing kids football in his 20s.

Not convinced he was anything more than a league 1/2 player at best. Bit surprised Leicester signed him as I wasn’t sure what his core strengths were as a player. Great goal at Wembley though!

I think he was okay to be fair and perhaps should have given himself a chance in division 2 under Mark Robins but the lure of the Premiership with his home town club was a massive pull but then again he was replaced by Mark McNulty who’s 28 goals and £1.5million fee paved the way to where we are now.

Shows how far we've risen that he wouldn't even get in the squad now

OK at L1 level and deserved a move. No-brainer to go to a Prem club that comes in for you. And he’ll end up at a L1 club in all probability, which is his level. So he hasn’t missed out on anything.

If money is everything then maybe so. Two years out of the three he played no games at a senior level. As mentioned above, if he had of stayed and played he may have progressed with us or he may have earnt the dream move when better placed to take advantage of it. His international career will certainly have stalled.

Never rated him-couldn’t see where he fitted in.

Too slow to be a winger, not prolific enough to be a striker and not creative enough to be a ‘10’.

That being said he came good for half a season which culminated in that wonderful Wembley strike, which earned him a high profile move.

A couple of years ago I was sat next to Robert Page & he said Giggs & Wales management rated him.

Weirdly played more games for Wales than he did for a Leicester.

To get that move & play internationally-he must have something! I don’t want him back but good luck to him-I don’t think he’ll find it difficult to get a club if he’s not too picky!

If Robins felt he could play in our team then I would have no problem taking him back, I suspect that is not on the agenda so good luck George.
We will always have THAT goal though...

Could’ve been great. Was settled here, playing well as a 19 year old, would have smashed league 2 and gone from there.
