I think thats the most respectful interaction i've had on this website.that's fair and I suppose a good player in that role would free whoever plays further fwd - Torp, Rudoni, Esse - to do what we need them to do. If that's what Onyeka is and he's good at it, him or someone like him could make a difference. I hear you.
That his ambitions are so limited is a worry...Oneyka said he wants to play for Man Utd yesterday...

I think the key issue is Torp’s role when BTA is missing. BTA was constantly running beyond the strikers, and that movement dragged defences all over the place. The strikers looked better as a result, and it also created space for Torp to arrive late in the box. If Rudoni isn’t going to make those box runs, then the number 8 becomes absolutely key, they have to provide that movement when the opportunity’s there. Torp does this well, but he’s missed a lot of games during this dip in form. Onyeka looks perfect for that role. I also get what you’re saying more broadly: fix the box runs, and a lot of the problems disappear. To do that, we probably need a different type of number 10 when BTA is out, maybe Esse fits that profile better.while Asante was playing as a CAM or second striker. Unless someone can show me otherwise, Torp was starting deeper in those games. I'd rather just fix what isn't working and avoid messing with what was i.e. Torp playing closer to Grimes.
Mr neither, we now have BTA coming back into the squad tomorrow, its the first time since the opening weeks that we have Rudoni and BTA both fit and available at the same time, and Esse can play AM too if required, so there's plenty of cover there.not sold on the idea.

And with Eccles capable of covering Grimes (at a push) and Torp fit again, we arnt really struggling in MF, and I havnt even considered Allen and Andrews.
Its hilarious how its the same posters getting hard ons every time some random rumour pops up on the interweb
I mean seriously, it was Hamer's return that was in fashion yesterday, now it’s Onyeka today, probably be Dan Neil again tomorrow!
I've said all along that BTA has been a massive loss to us. Grimes, Torp and BTA is our most productive midfield 3 by a mile.I think the key issue is Torp’s role when BTA is missing. Forgive me…Why would anyone get a hard one every time a random rumour pop up? Is this a thing? If so I’m guessing you have experience of this happening?Mr neither, we now have BTA coming back into the squad tomorrow, its the first time since the opening weeks that we have Rudoni and BTA both fit and available at the same time, and Esse can play AM too if required, so there's plenty of cover there.

Losing Grimes to injury is our biggest worry at the moment. If we add quality cover I think we are good to go.I think you stand a good chance of sorting our issues either way - get a destroyer in which is something we don't have but might not need, or a more dynamic fwd thinking CM which is what we had (Rudoni) but have been missing recently. We'll see how it goes! It sounds like we'll have someone in soon enough.
At my age I value every hard on!Forgive me…Why would anyone get a hard one every time a random rumour pop up? Is this a thing? If so I’m guessing you have experience of this happening?
Thats a worry tbf. Is he becoming the new Sheaf?Torp has about 500 mins max left this season if his previous seasons are anything to go by.
Poor old Dean could bring Mbappe and he'd still get absolutely flamed on hereso in conclusion, we need...
• cover for Grimes who's as good as him
• a destroyer good enough for an autos side
• attacking midfield competition for Rudoni
Dean, no pressure mate!
I'd just settle for Wright finding the net occasionally!so in conclusion, all that we need is...
• cover for Grimes who's as good as him
• a destroyer good enough for an autos side
• attacking midfield competition for Rudoni
Dean, Doug - no pressure fellas!

We are too open if BTA plays in the midfield. He needs to be across the front 3, with license to roam, like Rudoni does when he plays there. I remember Charlton & Blackburn at home. They went through our midfield at ease. At that time we were confident of outscoring teams, but it would be suicide to line up that way against Leicester, or Millwall, as we've had a wobble. Need to be solid against these two.I've said all along that BTA has been a massive loss to us. Grimes, Torp and BTA is our most productive midfield 3 by a mile.
The sooner we get BTA fit enough to start and bench Rudoni the better imo.
At least we now have Esse who can play as a 10, (to ass cover for BTA) and if he can do that effectively we are well set for the run in.
If we do add another MF it needs to be cover for Grimes, who is irreplaceable at the moment. Eccles could slot into that position if needs be, but it would be a major downgrade.
We withdrew our bid for Mbappe after his antics at the weekend. He be bad for the changing room.Poor old Dean could bring Mbappe and he'd still get absolutely flamed on here

I've been pretty consistent in praising lampardThere was

There wasn’t much opportunity for it before JDS’ red card because before then, the only game he missed was Wrexham where MVE was suspended.KKH was good that side against Charlton before he got injured tbf, made me wonder why it hadn't been tried over Bidwell/Brau up to that point.
I think he played a good few games at LB. They switched formation quite a bit. There wasn’t much opportunity for it before JDS’ red card because before then, the only game he missed was Wrexham where MVE was suspended.
KKH would’ve played more of a LWB iirc for PNE last season so playing LB is slightly different. Against Charlton it was 3-4-1-2, so it’s probably fair to assume that Lampard sees him being more comfortable at LWB than LB.
I think hes only done that today apparentlyFrank follows our Frank on insta so quite frankly, it’s done to be frank.
I didn’t realise that so many people’s idea of Championship squad depth means “have multiple players of identical quality in every position”so in conclusion, all that we need is...
• cover for Grimes who's as good as him
• a destroyer good enough for an autos side
• attacking midfield competition for Rudoni
