Why would wages be a problem?Wages will be the problem won’t they?
I imagine he must be on more than 30k. If it’s a permanent deal are we prepared to make him our highest earner by some way on a long deal?
"Fuck chocolate, show me your mega chippy"“So frank, welcome to Coventry. What’s your favourite chocolate bar?”
Wages won’t be a problem if we go up, most players we sign will be on at least 50/60k a week easilyWhy would wages be a problem?
If its a loan, a deal will be done with Brentford who would pay a percentage of his wages which is a fair deal for both sides.
If its a permanent signing, he would have a deal sorted that may be lower wages but would include a hefty signing on bonus and include a big bonus for promotion, and then back on to premier wages for next season.
Because if we dont get promoted what is his incentive to take a massive pay cut?Why would wages be a problem?

We seriously need to ask him if he likes coffee Revels.“So frank, welcome to Coventry. What’s your favourite chocolate bar?”
Thats why an initial loan would make sense, its also probable that if its a permanent move a signing on bonus would off set any drop in wages.Because if we dont get promoted what is his incentive to take a massive pay cut?
Thing is you can’t just break your wage structure for one playerThey shouldn't really be an issue, sometimes you just have to go for it if you want to get over the line. Smartest thing is to offer the best we can and then an increase upon promotion (which given our position sounds more attractive and realistic than if most other teams offered it.) Just about all of our players wages will increase upon promotion i would imagine.
Well surely at some point we do break the wage structure for one player so dont really get this point.Thing is you can’t just break your wage structure for one player
And we do have to consider the possibility we don’t go up. Maybe he would go for a promotion incentive based deal, but I imagine the likes of Valencia and Sheff Utd would be able to meet his demands off the bat.
Losing out to Sheffield United at this point would be pretty shameful tbh.Thing is you can’t just break your wage structure for one player

Well no, if we went up we’d have a completely new wage structure with multiple new signings coming in.Well surely at some point we do break the wage structure for one player so dont really get this point.
As was the case with Hamer and O’Hare, if it comes down to money we can’t compete with them.Losing out to Sheffield United at this point would be pretty shameful tbh.
Completely different scenario. As was the case with Hamer and O’Hare, if it comes down to money we can’t compete with them.
Exactly. They were a team that had just come down/gone up and were in the ascendency.Completely different scenario.
Completely different scenario.
They’ll still be paying more, at the end of the day that’s the biggest factor for most players.Exactly. They were a team that had just come down/gone up and were in the ascendency.
Here the roles are reversed.
For most. You clearly dont know and are just guessing. They’ll still be paying more, at the end of the day that’s the biggest factor for most players.

Yes and your reasoning is that hes probably money motivated without knowing at all. LOLI’m not claiming to be itk, just think it’s unlikely we sign him permanently this month
In all seriousness mate, and I'm saying this as someone who is a big fan of the owner generally, if we can't present ourselves as more attractive than Sheffield United currently its fucking embarrassing.Thing is you can’t just break your wage structure for one player

No. Our priority is a pacy midfield player with a good engine that can cover quickly defensively. That ain't Gus!Question, if we had the option for Sheff UTD to take Frank the tank and in return we get Hamer would you???
We can present ourselves however we like, rarely means much compared to cold hard cashIn all seriousness mate, and I'm saying this as someone who is a big fan of the owner generally, if we can't present ourselves as more attractive than Sheffield United currently its fucking embarrassing.
I have more faith than you however, I think we'll get it done.

Sorry mate, we have to at least offer close if we think this player helps us get to the Prem. It's called a calculated risk. I also don't agree its just cash, he could be in the Prem next year with us or in Championship purgatory with Sheffield United. We can present ourselves however we like, rarely means much compared to cold hard cash
Literally not trueWe can present ourselves however we like, rarely means much compared to cold hard cash
yeah he’s on the wind up i thinkSorry mate, we have to at least offer close if we think this player helps us get to the Prem. It's called a calculated risk. I also don't agree its just cash, he could be in the Prem next year with us or in Championship purgatory with Sheffield United.
They all looked so down and demotivated when we signed Grimes and WolfendonImagine the moral in the squad when our current top earners find he is on more than them
Exactly this. People moaning about the players being demoralised if we signed Hamer, they would be ecastaticThey all looked so down and demotivated when we signed Grimes and Wolfendon
Imagine the morale of the other players seeing another quality player coming in knowing it's another step towards promotion and a bigger chance of winning the Championship. The players will either have it in their contracts that they will get a good pay rise or the players we want to keep would be offered new contracts.Imagine the moral in thd squad when our current top earners find he is on more than them
