It wouldn't surprise me if Doug unveils him tomorrow before or at the presser.

It changes the dynamics of the supporters forum away from constant anger to questions towards Lampard.

I’m convinced that’s what’s happening - no way Doug arranges a fans forum without having something to soften the blow

I assume if he does take over and achieves promotion then you are happy to confirm you are wrong and you will leave the forum?

more SBT extremism.
Lampard isn’t even anything to do with the view that it was wrong to sack Robins. It’s very feasible to hold the view he should have stayed and still want the new manager to do well.

Yeah, especially on his new hair, as to how's Christine doing and whether he will finally admit that him and Gerrard together in the same England lineup, never worked.

It's clever.

If they get Lampard up in front of the fans, he'll talk well.

I bet we get some very ambitious tripe from Doug about wanting Lampard to get us in the Play Offs this season and how he'll back him in January etc.

By the list of managers out there I think he may end up being the best thats actually realistic, I’d much rather him over Schumacher, Butt, Niel etc

Sky will be licking their lips ahead of the televised match against Sheffield United if Lampard is in charge.

Who mentioned the sacking? The extremism is fans foaming at the mouth saying lampard would be a disaster when his record to date isn't bad at all

Expected it but dissapointed to be honest. Think it’s a very short sighted and easy appointment for DK.

The first act and most recent act make him seem quite impulsive, not a great trait

I don’t think either acts were impulsive. Any other manager produces our form over 30 games and loses 8 of our last 12 home games would probably warrant the sack. Our loyalty to Robins is admirable, but it is a possibility that was holding us back. That’s not a view I personally hold, but I’m open minded to that possibility.

Using this forum as a barometer, there were 3 threads asking the question of Robins in or out before the axe was swung. Which is never a good sign for any manager.

Really odd vanity appointment if this is the one.

Sounds like something that will end in tears within a year.

On the positive we are not far away from being a top side in the league, doesn't need massive overhaul.

Well my missus met him & his wife, and said they were very kind, chatted away for ages, and has the photo to prove it- so at least for the first time ever she has an interest in anything related to CCFC, which will make my life a bit easier each weekend 😁

Was this in the distant past, or this weekend at Tescos arena while Frank was getting his meal deal?

Id have no issue with Lampard being appointed. Always talks well, bright, hungry, articulate. I remember reading over the summer that when doing euros coverage how he really impressed other pundits with his analysis etc.

Whether he’s the right fit for us, who knows, but if he is appointed he deserves the fans backing and some time to get the team sorted (another gelling period 😊)

I just cannot fathom in anyway that Lampard will be at the presser tomorrow. King is feeding himself to the wolves albeit in a very controlled manner. Taking Lampard or any other potential manager into that environment to introduce him to the fans would be nonsensical. Would put Lampard on the back foot immediately.

If it were me I would front up tomorrow, answer questions, let it be digested for a few days and look to announce the new manager later in the week or early next week.

Well that's it really isn't it. I think I, along with many others, don't think he's the right fit.

As much as King is potentially stupid for doing what he did, I’m sure he’s not stupid enough to know that a new manager will want some kind of backing in January.

He’ll be aware that anyone will come in and make some changes to the playing side of things that they are not happy with. I imagine this means we’ll be doing some Jan transfer business.

Or, he is revealed from behind the curtain at the end of the evening, after fans have been scratching their heads all night, wondering whose shoes have been sticking out from the bottom.

Brilliant let’s get lampard in because he’s a good pundit. Might as well try Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher too

You and other members of this forum aren't appointing a new manager.
