Basically, we're doing better than you'd think really... Were a mid table side pretty much on form.

Keep it up, especially with our injury problems and that's fantastic... Keep the faith

I'm happy about last night's win but I feel a lot of people are getting carried away.
Our February fixtures look very difficult to get points and we might end up in the relegation zone if the teams below get a few wins.

Birmingham (19th) away
Forest (20th) home
Watford (3rd) home
Cardiff (15th) away
Norwich (1st) home
Brentford (4th) home
Swansea (2nd) away
Blackburn (10th) away

And if we win them all we are top half. No team in the bottom half wins successive games regularly so I can't see us suddenly dropping that far so quickly

Is winning all or even half of our games against top 6 teams realistic?

Rotherham (relegation zone) are 6 points behind us. They also have 2 games in hand too.

Rotherham just went and trashed Boro away, surprise results can and do happen all the time. It doesn’t mean they will but we also can’t adopt the mindset that such games are guaranteed defeats

I suppose we might be able to field closer to our strongest team in February if Marosi, Rose, Walker return.

That is just football though. If teams below us can catch us, it is just as possible we can climb a few places too.

I think we will go up and down around where we are. The threat of relegation will remain until the end of the season. First year back was always going to be a dog fight. Considering the injuries to key players we have done well.

I can see your point but the next 4 are all winnable. Not expecting many if any points from the last 4 but given our home form I can see both Norwich and Brentford not guaranteeing themselves 3 points.

I’d fancy Us to pick up around 10 points from those games. Maybe a couple more even.

Meh, we're unlikely to lose them all. The only teams we've been hammered by are Bournemouth and then the 10 man disaster that was Blackburn. I reckon we can grab a couple of points or more - most of the teams we're playing we got something from, or ran them close, last time we played, so why should we be fearful?

Out of those 9 games 3 wins would be enough to keep us looking good for survival I think

33% . Manageable

It's very important that its ckming to the end of jabuaey and we dobt have to fight ojr way out if trouble. All about keeping head above water now

Looking at current form table.

The teams taking a nosedive right now.

Birmingham and Cardiff to a lesser extent QPR should be very worried that 3rd from bottom place is anyone's from 12th down.

Expect a few more managerial changes in February as teams will see it as last chance saloon to get some form for the run in.

Think the Brum manager will be on his way if they lose to their tennants this weekend.

Get 4 points from next 2 games. Or minimum 3 points from next 2, will gladly take a few draws then from the 4/5 tough games, to keep us ticking along and up the up the table.

Always felt Nov/Dec/Jan would be vital as those were our 'easiest' run of games and we needed to pick up points after a tough start and a difficult Feb on paper. March also could be important with games against teams around us and I'd hope we could have a bit of a cushion going into Apr/May as I wouldn't want to be approaching that needing to get results from a lot of them.

Next two are important. Can't afford to lose either and ideally win at least one.

Would happily take 8-10 points from those. Important we don't lose the next 2, but beyond that each is a bonus. Gets it out of the way too and providing we're still in touch, which I think we will be having points in the bag, then we have a reasonable run-in.

Thanks for putting this up, quite enlightening that despite key injuries, not scoring loads and some poor performances (and some forecasts of gloom) we're actually holding our own fairly well. Imagine if MR had a full squad to pick from every week, the tone would be a lot more positive.

so we started the season very poorly
after the 1st 11 games we are on 1.5 points per game
That converts to 69 points in a season (73 usually gets the play offs)
We have a very small squad and have been ravaged by injury, so much that 1-11 almost picks itself

What we are achieving is massive, and if we can keep it going, give it a couple of years of improvement, and things could get exciting
