This is our chance. Fail, and we could be up against 5 or 6 parachute teams next season. Our moment is now. We have to capitalise on it.

Was saying this yesterday..its not dramatic or bed wetting either. This is THE chance. The squad we have, the gap we have, everything is set

If we fuck it up this year i genuinely dont think we ever do it. We will lose a shitload of players either due to last year of contract or better offers leading to a rebuild. Add in another 3 parachute teams, and Blues and Wrexhams spending power it will be much much harder. It absolutely has to be this season or never for me

Reinforcements to come next month will see us get what we need I think, and the sounds are we’re strengthening where we could use the extra depth.

Opta currently has us with a 94.68% chance of promotion and predicted final points tally of 91.78

Boro 57% / 82 pts

Ipswich 19% / 75 pts

No one else over 10%.

If we could get results v Southampton and Ipswich we'll be laughing. And Boro have quite a tricky January imo (Derby A, Soton H, Fulham A (cup), WBA A, Stoke A, Preston H, Norwich H).

Totally agree. Failure is not an option. If we do fail, I fear that not only will our best players leave, but Frank will as well.

All the stats and signs say we will do it

So why can I not accept it? 😂😂😂
'It never happens for people like us' is a big part of it I think. The League 1 promotion was a slow burner of gradually emerging as the best side in the league, this we've sprinted out at the start and that makes you think 'well it's going to fall apart eventually right?'.

Exactly it mate. Im just waiting for the bubble to burst. And I think I will be until we are all on the pitch at the CBS celebrating

In the cold light of day, if our position were swapped with a parachute team we wouldn’t be thinking twice about them going up or not. I’m still concerned about what a few injuries could do but I really think that’s the only thing which could derail the season.

Even just BTA being out has had something of a negative effect. Not something I thought I'd be saying last season.

So far his absence has hit us more than Rudoni’s did, which is a bit of a head wobbler.

We're losing a bit of our attacking shape and impetus with Rudoni in the side to be honest. Both when he has the ball and when he doesn't.

He's clearly being told to play a bit of a free role but at one point when we were pushing forward we was in the LB slot. Him floating about like some plastic bag in the wind isn't really helping us in that regard either.

My feelings too. I think its because we are Cov fans and things never go our way or as hoped. But lets stay off the pitch. Knowing our luck we would get a 20 point deduction or something and miss out

All that time sitting on the bench with MAB has rubbed off on him. 😂

I'm the same.

It's important to me to see us in the Premier League before I snuff it (I will turn 71 in a few weeks) and I'm still haunted by that season under Mowbray when we fell away disastrously after Christmas.

I’m still haunted by the Niilson season 2002 when we were clear, looking like we’d get at least playoffs and playing great football until the board brought in Jim Smith in the January for his ‘experience’ alongside some very dodgy ex-Derby players who completely derailed the team. Horacio Carbonari anyone?

Both sacked 3 months later…..

That’s what’s in the back of my mind when folks talking about the January Transfer Window!

Don't think we will be bringing Jim Smith in, relax.

Outside of Boro and Ipswich, none of those teams are hitting the PPG required. Ipswich’s away form is so bad, they will struggle to get above 2 ppg, same with Southampton who are unlikely to hit 2.48 ppg which translates to 21 wins and 4 losses for the rest of the season.
Just to point out Ipswich's current form (6 games) would only take them to 75 points.
In general with league being so tight except for us top 2 I think we will see teams taking points off each other (more draws) and making the points total needed for automatic promotion less.

That's what I expect from us tbh.

This weekend will be interesting. We go to Southampton to test out their dodgy defence. Will make a change to be up against a GK not doing so well. Then it's Bristol City v Middlesbrough. As we saw ourselves Bristol are better than their results suggest. The gap could be down to 2 points just as easily as expanded to 8 points.

Middlesborough will lose a game at some point or draw - it only takes a slightly duff ref decision !

Well yeah they have to play Ipswich and Southampton just Like Us. 🤔
