Please don't do this to me.It's difficult to look at the table below and not feel incredibly confident about this season.
It looks at the table as it stands, what each team would need to do from here to reach 90 points, and then compares that with how they've performed over their last 46 matches.
In summary, we can afford to drop our standards slightly from what we've done over the last 12 months and still make 90.
Compared with literally every other 'challenger' who would need to see a SIGNIFICANT improvement on what they've been doing to get anywhere close to 90. The only side who you can't properly judge using this table are Ipswich who obviously played most of their last 46 games in the PL, but whether we finish 2nd or 1st the destination is the same.
Anyway, in summary IT. IS. HAPPENING.

If we beat PNE at Deepdale I’m making a commemorative shirtDoes anyone else feel like this is a repeat of the 19/20 league winning season? The season it felt like we’d beat everyone home and away after we got going.
WBA and Boro are two tough teams but I just think we’ll beat them both. In fact, to run the risk of being called delusional, this is the year we beat PNE at Deepdale.
A win at Deepdale will truly be a ‘where were you’ moment…If we beat PNE at Deepdale I’m making a commemorative shirt
I’ll auction off the chinos I wore to the game, proceeds to a good cause of course.A win at Deepdale will truly be a ‘where were you’ moment…
I love this song and when I hear it always makes me happy. We are all believers, aren’t we?
Better start stocking up on facemasks and toilet rolls...Does anyone else feel like this is a repeat of the 19/20 league winning season? The season it felt like we’d beat everyone home and away after we got going.

Oh no you weren't!"For any remaining non-believers".
Damn! I thought this was a thread for all us atheists! I was looking for a good argument!

Simple... I was at DeepdaleA win at Deepdale will truly be a ‘where were you’ moment…
Totally with your sentiment. However if you take the lyrics literally its about avoiding the drop in top flight. So maybe we should save it until we are promoted again and fighting to stay up! How good would another rendition of 'we are staying up' again back in top flight?!!It should be on the playlist at the CBS before the game start.
It’s a real challenge to enjoy what’s happeningHad a Chinese last night, fortune cookie read
'Enjoy the process as you go along, not just the end result', I took it that all games for the rest of the season will be enjoyable, not just the promotion at the end of it. PUSB
It’s a real challenge to enjoy what’s happening
I mean instead of just enjoying it all you start worrying about when we lose or go on a bad run and don’t focus on the game you’re watching or enjoying our results and our play and our goals etc etcHow is it Pete lol
We're top of the league 7 clear of 3rd and scoring goals for fun,
We have never been in this position ever since I've supported Cov,
I'm having a great time.....PUSB
Edit: Unless U were being sarcastic lol then apologies as I've fell for it
The journey will no doubt be more fun than the destination if we see it through. Prepare for regular pumpings, VAR, getting spoken about more by generic Youtube dipshits who know nothing outside the 'big 6', influx of random foreign accounts all over our socials (although admittedly they couldn't talk much more shite than most the people already on our socials.)I mean instead of just enjoying it all you start worrying about when we lose or go on a bad run and don’t focus on the game you’re watching or enjoying our results and our play and our goals etc etc
Live in the moment
I was in the hope of evidence of Nessy or Big Foot or Santa tbh!"For any remaining non-believers".

Yeah I do agree and my initial post was done deliberately flippantly given we are now (checks Twitter comments from all non-Coventry fans) "the most arrogant fanbase in the country".Wouldn’t say it’s ‘not believing’ per se. More cautious with the amount of games left. I’ve seen enough to suggest we’re good enough, but I’ve also seen the table say there’s 31 games left
- 1.8 ppg is still a lot (far better than we have managed over a full season since we got promoted)Yeah I do agree and my initial post was done deliberately flippantly given we are now (checks Twitter comments from all non-Coventry fans) "the most arrogant fanbase in the country".
It still stands though that every other team needs to achieve a ppg return in their last 31 games far beyond anything they've got close to in the last year.
We can slightly drop our ppg of the last year from about 2 to 1.8 for the last 31 games and still hit 90.
It’s a massive opportunity. Just need to keep plugging away and hope we don't suffer a huge injury crisis in Nov/Dec ahead of being able to reinforce.

I referenced Ipswich in my initial post. I agree, I think they will be up there.- 1.8 ppg is still a lot (far better than we have managed over a full season since we got promoted)
- Ipswich’s stats in your figure are muted because they were in the prem- I would expect them to average around 2ppg
- It only takes one of the others to step up and we could be under pressure.
Obviously we are the clear favourites by some margin but it is far from a certainty.
That’s all there is to it. Relegated clubs off to slower starts than usual, settled squad with good harmony and good coaching to implement a playing style that’s a bit ahead of the curve.I think the one thing we can all agree on is we will never get a better opportunity than this.
