For all those Ricoh haters.... (1 Viewer)

Ultimately it could be the Ricoh thats saves CCFC with it being just about the only thing we are connected with to attract any form of takeover/investors.

Opinions ????

Would we be in this mess if we were still at HR?

Good ground. Not for Div 3 though

Why not? Each away supporter will be able to have a row each.

Lots of room for flasks and sandwiches.

I accept that it's here and I do like most things about it, but HR will always be my spiritual home.

Sadly I over ever got to watch 1 game at Highfield Road - the penultimate game there - 2-2 vs Wolves. So I guess I like the Ricoh. Wis there wasn't that gap to seperate us from the pitch tho. At Reading I enjoyed being about 2 ft from some of our players - even if it was so Murphy got an earful for leaving the ball when it went in...

In years to come we will probably be looking back at the Ricoh as being the cause of and solution to the state were in now.

Looking at it one way we are in a better position than some clubs that actually own their ground. If you look at Pompey, they might own Fratton Park, but whoever takes over them is going to have to completely rebuild that ground if they ever want to make any money out of it. The cost of that would be far greater than the cost of us buying the Ricoh, not to mention the time scales.

If I remember right we spent at least 20m buying and decontaminating the land

Im the same hate the soulless Ricoh we should never sold Highfield Road. The last game vs Derby show how good the place is when full and rocking , ok it was a special day but every game I went to there was to me

In fairness to the Ricoh its never had the chance to really put on a good show for us.

Im sure a consistantly full Ricoh would be better than a full HR.

I love the Ricoh!! The first season was rocking and we had some fantastic days in there since.

Should we ever EVER see success again, it will be immense in there. The loudest stadium in the country. The acoustics are brilliant!! Every seat is a decent one. Queues are quickly reduced and the JSB area is fantastic for kids. The staff (employed by ACL... ok and the programme sellers... and most of the turnstyle staff) are friendly and customer focused. There's a freaking pub and casino there AND it's where I got married... Surrounded by tonnes of City memorabilia!!

I miss HR I really do and have my greatest CCFC memories there and yes, it is my spiritual home, but I wish it was built for the original season it was meant to be, ie 2000/01. A few seasons in the Prem in that ground would have been amazing.

Here's to the future!!
