Surely legal action will follow this now why can't they take the golden share back ?

They won't take it back unless they are made to as fixtures will be unfulfilled.
The only outcome now really is NOPM to stand firm...& let the club rot until they move back, or SISU sell to cut losses.
All the authorities have probably quickly come to note that it is a total (engineered) mess designed to protect value for the owners in whatever guise they come in. So rather than tackle it with costly litigation...they will do their upmost to ignore it but change the laws/rules from here on in.

It appears from the following article that the Press Association picked up on this story:

All the major newsrooms in the country will have access to PA stories, so you would think it would appear in at least some of the newspapers and websites...

Well, apart from that link above and the Coventry Telegraph, I haven't found it anywhere else with a quick Google search.

Could it be that the eve of the Premier League season, when all the sports reporters had their eyes on the top flight, was specifically chosen as the perfect moment to release this little bombshell - or am I being too cynical? :thinking about:

The Football League admitting incompetence is no more a revelation than calling Hitler a naughty boy!

In all seriousness, someone should try and get on 5Live (i.e 606, though today will be filled with "The magic that is the PL") or the likes and highlight this story. Might make the media take a little bit of notice.
You're spot on with it being a perfect timed release, its been drowned out with the PL.

Damages could be huge for the football league. ACL can argue that they made business decisions based on league rules.
