Not much is going right for Northampton on the pitch since deciding to let Coventry ground share- lost again today at home and are now 3rd from bottom of the league and also lost at home in the cup - this after so much was promised pre-season after been losing play off finalists - will the locals start watching a winning team at sixth fields instead which may cause concern in the ranks -or is this bad streak of foum a Coventry curse
Giving out free tickets to Northampton fans which is rumoured for Cov games is a strange one as on the face of it may sound like a kind gesture but could be read differently as possibly enticing the town fan base to change allegiance and the fans using them might quite like the standard of league 1 particularly if the team keep winning
With the large Police presence promised tomorrow and Shefield utd and probably other games who is paying the bill! if the local residents do have to have foot the Police bill Home and Away (rumored) realistically questions are going to be asked
Finally don't forget the heavy rain starting to surface with a game abandoned half way through today will the pitch stand up to two teams playing one day after another - the £100,000 reported as rental for the season could be swallowed up quite quickly

mentioned this before, may be unlikely but if this time next year we're in the championship and they're in non league will Cardoza still see it as a good deal for NTFC? Of course their hardcore fanbase will continue to go but the more casual fans and the neutrals (students etc) may well make the choice to go and watch Coventry instead of Northampton. If that happens its a slippery slop and could have long term issues for them.

while I don't think a permanent move to Sixfields is considered an option by SISU at the moment by the time the 5 years is up it could be a much different scenario. they could find themselves, thanks to the ground improvments, with a much bigger ground than they need or can afford to maintain, at that point would a permanent move become a viable option to SISU?

of course you would need a lot of things to happen for that scenario to occur but the possibility does exist.

Crikey you're more pessimistic about our plight than our own fans.

The fact is we over achieved last year by getting in the play offs.

We've never enticed students to Sixfields and I doubt the fact that the university now sponsor us will change that.

I doubt many would change allegiance. This isn't the first time we've had a new rival. Rushden and diamonds were created to rival us and they no longer exist. Mk dons tried to entice fans away and we didn't suffer (in fact rushden and diamonds got hit more by them than we did because Griggs had just made a load of the redundant).

I doubt we'll get relegated but then its only August and a lot can happen between now and then

Hypothetically, what would happen if we did get promoted though? A few Prem cast offs and the odd big cup game over the course of the season isn't too unlikely.

How do you think it'd affect you guys? It's probably as likely as you getting relegated mind.
