The Football League have been described as "a not fit and capable organisation to run the national game" in an Early Day Motion to Parliament.
The Early Day 458 motion signed by Coventry MP's Bob Ainsworth and Jim Cunningham, Portsmouth MP Mike Hancox and Mansfield MP Alan Meale is as follows:
"That this House notes that the Football League's insolvency policy, as written, requires an owner wishing to move a club away from its traditional area to demonstrate a clear plan with timescales for its return; further notes that despite this, Greg Clarke, the Chairman of the Football League, has admitted that he does not know if the owners of Coventry City Football Club will build a stadium in the Coventry area in the next five years or if it is their intention ever to do so; calls on the Football League in light of this to alter its policy to reflect the actions it has taken in this case; believes that the policy should recognise that the League will back its member clubs right to move if they wish, for however long they wish, will require no commitments from them other than a demonstration that they have the funds to continue to run the club, will disregard the views of fans, will criticise those who build and pay for stadiums for clubs to play in, as he has done, even when a club withholds the rent and puts itself into administration in order to avoid its obligations; and, in light of this policy coupled with the serious administrative errors it has belatedly admitted, further believes that the League is not a fit and capable organisation to administer the national game."
Not being funny, but, is any of this going to assist in getting Coventry City back at the Ricoh Arena?
Well it might help stop Sisu keeping the club out of Coventry for many years or indefinitely-- if you are interested in that.
Again he believes that he is helping CCfc not go out of existence!!
Not being funny, but, is any of this going to assist in getting Coventry City back at the Ricoh Arena?
maybe, maybe not. but looking forward lets say we get rid of shitsu and return to coventry in the next year the new owner get the club back to the premiership playing infront of a packed house and the ricoh is rocking, then in 10years time the club is sold again to another hedge fund that opperate with the same moral standards that shitsu have and they and it all unravells again and we end up back in league 1 upto our eyeballs in debt again. and the only reason they are allowed to do this because nothing has changed at FL.
i think people need to realise the implications of nothing changing at the FL and other teams fans need to cotton on to this as well before their club is allowed to slip into the hands of a shitsu.
Not about getting back to the Ricoh, it's about exposing the lies being spouted. All is slowly unravelling bit by bit, what else is there ? Fisher's unusually long silence is deafening and Sepalla's apparent admittance to Nikki Sinclair last week that she would consider selling the club as opposed to Fisher's constant "the club is not for sale, we are here for the long haul" mantra highlights a significant change I believeNot being funny, but, is any of this going to assist in getting Coventry City back at the Ricoh Arena?
BET sOUTHAMPTON FANS ARE RELIEVED, IT COULD HAVE BEEN THEM.maybe, maybe not. but looking forward lets say we get rid of shitsu and return to coventry in the next year the new owner get the club back to the premiership playing infront of a packed house and the ricoh is rocking, then in 10years time the club is sold again to another hedge fund that opperate with the same moral standards that shitsu have and they and it all unravells again and we end up back in league 1 upto our eyeballs in debt again. and the only reason they are allowed to do this because nothing has changed at FL.

I am glad Fisher is keeping quiet. It's a relief that the statements coming out from the club are about on the field matters only at the moment. The only PR machine issuing statements about the Ricoh are ACL.
Your ability to support Sisu and bury their 'practices' whatever they do to the club here and now, whilst criticising previous owners for what they did is simply absurd.
We need to scrutinise Sisu as our owners right now.
i meant Greg dyke and the football leagueWhy did he never make any EDMs when the club's former owners decided to sell its home and lease it back?
"Ambivalent to all sides"??? Everything you post is in support of SISU!!! SISU have done this to CCFC...Nobody else!!!
Absolute waffle.
put me right then FP.
@ FP... SISU are the ones who are ultimately responsible for the Clubs' situation...At least you are consistent in your backing of SISU "All the Bastard Time"
"Not being funny" but the thread is titled "Football League slammed in parliament" it was you that brought getting back to the Ricoh into it!Please point me in the direction to where I have backed SISU's decision to move CCFC to Northampton. Take as long as you like.

The FL have already admitted they've made mistakes this time. It isn't their rules as such it's how they've been applied in this case. I think the admittance of errors would suggest that those mistakes won't be made again.
You've taken the comment out of context, it was a direct response to SBK's comment about me "backing SISU all of the bastard time".
Absolute waffle
the problem is that currently all the FL's rules are subject to the FL's exceptional circumstances rule which means basicaly they can make the rules up as they go along, while this is in place they can be manipulated by any individual/hedgefund or consortium. if we have learnt nothing we have learnt that the FL will use this rule to complete their fixture list at any cost to the heart of football. THE FANS, ie you and me. if you dont think this needs addressing i worry about your mental well being.
Of course there should be exceptional circumstances. Like I say it's about how it's applied. If the rules were black and white CCFC may be no more.
