Ipswich away on a normal working day at 6pm is fuckin madness!!

3 hour drive and you'd expect to have at least an hour or 2 flex incase of traffic issues and also grab food/drink and walk to ground so defo need to leave around 1pm so it's half day holiday for anyone wanting to go

I'm not happy about it but the wife is even more livid...... I've cancelled Xmas Eve holiday request and added half days for 29th and 30th Dec

Being serious though, it'll never change as us fans will find ways of going to games if others don't. If the demand is there then they'll never change. ☹️
Errr it’s at home….

If people are getting wound up by this what are they going to be like when we reach the Prem? At least we're at home and have a chance of making it to the game. They have about a 3 hour journey when the roads could be congested.

Yes it's shite. But get promoted and it will be worse.

Which games in Premier League this season are scheduled for a Monday at 6pm? Or worse?

How many 3pm Saturday games are there?

This 6pm game is a one off because of the time of year. The problem we have is we're now seen as one of the top Championship sides. They are taking a guess at who will be in contention for promotion. If we're at or near the top it will get worse for changing game times. Then in the Prem you take the money but can't plan a lot in advance.

Doesn't really answer the question. Kick off times are going to change, subjectively 6pm on a Monday in the week between Christmas is shit or fantastic. For me, it's fantastic. When you said it will get worse than 6pm on a Monday if we reach the Prem, I was trying to figure out what would be worse? Is it Sunday 4pm? Wednesday 8.15pm? Again, these will be subjective to your situation.

I don't personally agree that it will be worse if we reach the Prem, but it would be interesting to know why you would.

I get that any kick off time is good for some people and bad for others but while many people have non-standard working hours these days Monday - Friday 9-5 (or 5:30) is still considered the standard working week.

That date may be in the Christmas working period but for most people, as its not a bank holiday, its a standard working. Sure many workplaces are like mine and leave requests for Christmas were handled long ago. Pretty sure I'm not going to be the only person looking at a 6pm kick off and thinking there's zero chance I'm getting there for that and zero chance of persuading my boss to let me have the afternoon off or leave early.

Sounds like you're agreeing that it won't be worse in the Prem then. I agree.

6pm on December 29th is the worst we could get? As you say it's fantastic for you. Although totally crap for many there's also many that will be happy with it.

You're talking as though it's an ordinary week where it would impact the majority.

Championship is worse then the Prem as games are getting moved to essentially streaming only on Sky Sports + because nobody will sort out the issue of the stupid fucking blackout.

But moving a game to 6pm on a working day isn't something I recall seeing before in the Prem. Maybe it has because to be honest I don't pay that much attention but the club should at the very least push back on it.

Perhaps I'm reading this wrong. I thought you said it will be worse when we go to the Prem. I'm trying to understand what you think is worse in the Prem than Monday at 6pm?

Am I the only person that doesn't get handed a stack of extra days off because its near Christmas?

The country doesn't shut down between Christmas and New Year, there's a lot of people for whom non-bank holidays are normal working days.

A lot if places close between Christmas and New Year. A lot of people work shifts. If you're the typical worker the stadium would be half empty.
