Watching the U21 Euros tournament over this crap, it's essentially just glorified friendlies, pointless money making, just like the nations league with the players getting knackered in the process.

I would’ve thought that it would crash and burn, but there are supposedly people out there who genuinely care about the Nations League, so modern football fans are a persuadable sort I guess.

Nations league I can sort of understand because it's your country competing and still a high standard of footy, but tuning in for Man City vs 'Al Ain' can't be too exciting surely, they've struggled to sell tickets for the club world cup as a whole so it just shows really

Only riposte is that Nations League games generally only filled other international friendly slots.

Close game this, like having a San Marino in the qualifiers. A waste of time.

It's so American, even the way the players come out.

How much are they all getting paid? The players could have easily taken it up with their clubs.

I tuned in for 20 seconds yesterday - It must have been the only 20 seconds when Bayern Munich didn't score a goal.
I have to say the silence from the stadium was quite eerie.
