So the next Dr. Who will be a woman. I guess we all could have predicted it.
I've been watching the show since the very first episode (with a few hiatuses along the way) so it's hard to imagine; but then again I disliked the last two male actors in the role (Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith were simply horrendous) so maybe it will be ok.
How much longer before a female 007?

I'm no fan in any way of Dr Who, but isn't the doctor an alien who can take any form so it's not that abstract that the Dr could be a woman. Whereas the character of James Bond is a human man and it's harder to get away from that. It'd be good to see Bond played by Idris Elba. He's a great actor plus it'd be a good thing to diversify such an iconic character. The world of tv, movies and video games for that matter are filled with generic looking straight white males as lead characters. It's time that changed a bit.

I thought about reporting this thread as it shouldn't be on a CCFC forum.
