As an old dodger of 78 who has watched the city since I was 11 I can hardly believe we are on the verge of going back to the promised land .
I’m going to the match tomorrow courtecy of my son and grandson indoctrinated since they were born
I never thought I’d see us back in the PL in my lifetime.
Wonderful team wonderful manager wonderful coaches wonderful supporters. If you see an old bugger crying in the Balcony Bar tomorrow it might be me

I've had people at work ask me about whether we'll stay up next year and all that and to be honest I couldn't give a fuck (yet). That's 26/27's problem, I'm concentrating on enjoying the rest of what's possibly the best season I'll ever see.

I'd hoped we'd eventually get back up but never this luxuriously. Five games to go and we've possibly even already got all the points we need.

After the Luton playoff loss i sat in box park so depressed and I actually imagined my future self telling me we will be promoted this time next year. I was just trying to deal with a horrible loss

Never knew it would happen just a few years later.

yeah, i'm feeling it myself.
i said earlier in the season i would like to see us play in the prem again before i die. i was half joking, but it could very easily have been another 25 years, and who knows...

you enjoy yourself. with your son and grandson.
there's been a lot of downs, you embrace this with both arms. 💙

Indeed mate haven’t lived in Cov since seventies when left to find another job as could see Massey Ferguson Banner Lane closing because of militant unions ( which it did)( and I’m a socialist !) but still never forgot my love for Coventry ( whose people are salt of the earth in my view ) I’ll be there when the Championship trophy is paraded . Remembering my growing up and education at Wood End junior and Cally ( the only thing that Bobby Gould and James Maddison have except for the love of our city

1 point for city takes Millwall out of the equation, i would like Mboro to draw or lose tomorrow and we can have a soft P by our name and a win by us will make it a positive P by our name

I think a few of us have had a lump in our throats watching this tonight- enjoy sir and thank you for passing the sky blue bug down the line. I'll be raising a glass to my late grandad & great grandad when we've got over the line that's for sure, you'd have been in the ground with them for many a game no doubt- really pleased you'll be seeing this with your family. Had to literally pick a young lad up off the Wembley steps after the last pen, poor kid was distraught. Remember saying to him 'we'll just have to piss the league next year with 100 pts'. Didn't quite happen but hope that lad is buzzing now!

Also hope the Luton scrotes who were giving it loads at Wembley Park station that day are looking forward to their Papa Checkatrade big day out.

I feel much the same as @TewkesburySkyBlue .

My love for the Sky Blues has endured for 63 years but, at the age of 71 and after 25 largely grim years, there have been many times when I felt that I might not live long enough to see them play in the top flight again. Yet here we are, on the very brink of promotion. I can scarcely believe it!

For most of the season I have been one of those who felt indifferent about winning the title. For me getting automatic promotion all that mattered. I have completely changed my mind now: we have been much the best team in the division for 41 games and it will be a travesty if we don’t clinch the Championship, which I’m certain we will.

Runners-up doesn’t have the same ring to it as Champions does it?

You’ve got a few years on me, but followed the same path mostly. Wood End, then Bell Green then Cally. Ah, and memories of (especially) gang 3 at MF.

But we've had a taste of that recently, I'm not going to knock them as we don't know what's ahead, they were an okay team for around 30games before it got too much.
