What annoys me is why didn’t the ccc try and get the best price possible for the taxpayers, say we are going to sell the stadium to wasps for £5mill + debts, sisu do you want to better that offer? start a bidding war, we were never offered it at that good of deal
Think Price Waterhouse advised the Council that the deal was a good one.As for Sisu bidding when asked would they have paid that price the answer was "no way" don 't forget when Wasps put in their bid we were elsewhere there was no team playing there. They only wanted to give Higgs £2 mill for the other half which they said was worthless.Do you think they would pay what Wasps paid for their half?

Stand to be corrected , but the 1.2M rent was to cover the ACL bank loan, if ccfc had gone into Admin so would ACL, the rest is unknown so can not be argued either way as it didn't happen., My only point is that both the council and SISU try to make out there actions are because of what the other party did , I don't believe that , they both knew what they were doing ,Its just sad that people are still arguing for one side or the other, when they are both as bad as each other

We were signed up tenants when Wasps bought the Ricoh.

This is the point you keep missing. Selling it to Wasps fucked the club over for many more years after SISU have gone. Up until then their fuck up was much easier to reverse.

We should of gone bust you boring c**t
If they pulled out - there would be no club right now... that’s because of the shitty rent deal and the councils refusal to deal with anyone else

Err - we did go bust & that was when we lost the option of buying 50% of the Ricoh.

There were no other bidders willing to take on the 1.2 million rent. The others all made comments about being unable to work with the council - see The Manhattan Group

we didn’t have the chance in 2013..the council had a veto on it, which they already said would exercise

And finally - the admin process - Appleton has a duty to get the biggest amount back for the creditors... the biggest being SISU - so really had no choice to pick them

1 As there no other bidders shame Sisu did. 2 Keep seeing this yet to see the evidence. 3 were the other bids in thin evelopes or held up to the light

Yeah if I remember rightly this was pre-Ricoh being built. We were close to going bust then when the council suggested that was the only thing we can do.

which time? With Appleton - again, SISU were the major creditor. Appleton had to get the biggest offer for them. I’d imagine they offered 100% of the debt considering they were effectively buying it themselves

CCFC will never own a ground. IF the council were to sell the Ricoh to SISU they would keep the ground separate from CCFC then rent it to us. As the shitty council do.
Same with any NEW ;-)))) ground they built, they own we rent.
The only chance we have is to get an owner who would buy the club and ground, and then hand it over to us.
Unfortunately I don’t believe in Santa Clause.

I see this argument a lot and I'm not sure what they'd gain by renting the stadium to themselves.

A lot of teams do it these days - not sure why, suppose it’s a way for owners to take a steady income from the stadium.

I’ve no issues with this, as long as we benefit from the income

I was stating a fact and reacting to you, laughingly, responding to your own post. When you use abuse as punctuation, it loses all effect. I agree with some of the points you've made about SISU's behaviour.

Never mind a lot of teams, a lot of businesses do this nowadays. It keeps the property safeguarded from any potential business ‘difficulties’. As long as it was retained in the same group of companies I wouldn’t be overly concerned.

Before CCFC agreed to return Waggott asked CCC what was the position with WASPS and ground ownership.
CCC said there was no agreement with WASPS
How long was it after CCFC came back was it that WASPS had srranged the purchase and £30m+ public funding?

Doesn’t matter if it was the first or last bid - the offer had to be the best for the creditors... if SISU are buying their own debt - guess who’s offer is going to the biggest

point 2: even worse... the council had already sold their share which meant wasps could veto - Coventry City FC's Ricoh bid would need to be approved by Wasps

also point 1 - there was another bidder: Geoffrey Robinson - wanted a reduction in rent - council wouldn’t deal
