When he played well he was brilliant. But sadly wasn't that often, otherwise he was lightweight and dint bring anything to the party.

You are suggesting in the role he was better than a player whose now in the premier league so it’s a little bit silly

It's his personal favourite player. Surely he's allowed that without either being mocked for it or having to justify it to you!

I have not compared him to anyone as the thread is called favourite player to watch. Not favourite player who now plays in the premiership.

It was good to watch Ruben when he played well. If he was more consistent and had bulked up a bit maybe he could have been playing at a higher level. But that's football.

That ball he threaded to Armstrong vs Millwall was brilliant.

Mifsud when he burst on the scene first was like having the Maltese Michael Owen was unplayable at times

All the favourites have one thing in common pace - just loved the way Armstrong would never give up on a ball ( like McNulty ) also the way he ghosted the half way line he was bound to get ahead - Wilson and Clarke were relentless at Sixfields but Wilson was home grown so he gets my vote

I'd say Bayliss and McNulty i think. Bayliss, when on form, can be brilliant when breaking forward but just doesn't do it regularly enough. I've also enjoyed watching Willis but the other two had/have me out of my seat more regularly!

I didnt see much of the team during the Pressley and Mowbray eras, i expect Wilson, Maddison and a few others would have featured otherwise.

Maddison
Armstrong
Wilson
Ryan Kent

Running with the ball Kent was superb. He had pace, was ditect but sadly had an end product akin to Luke Thomas on a bad day!!

Callum Wilson - as a home grown striker with that much pace it was the saving grace of that season.
McNulty towards the end of that season just because it was a question of when, not if, he would score.
Joe Cole in the very beginning just because it was Joe Cole.

I was going to reply, but it seems you already have done it for me! Exactly who I’d have said.

If I had to add anything to it, I’d say Armstrong at the start of the season (imagine if we had a player as good as the early season Armstrong and the end of season mcNulty!! Things that dreams are made of!)

I thought Julian Gray was really good last season. Some people actually thought he had gone.

McNulty in league 2. His work rate was phenomenal and when he found his goal scoring touch he was unstoppable.

Ruben lameires for me. Those reverse passes were a thing to behold.
Like Maddison I think he’ll thrive in a higher division.

McGoldrick, Wilson and Maddison all a class above others we've had since relegation from the Championship.Be interesting o see how McGoldrick gets on in the Prem next season, especially after quite a few injuries from his time at Ipsiwch.

Remember when he absolutely tore Sheff Utd apart in a televised game only to be dropped for the next game? On the Nii Lamptey podcast Kieran Crowley let it slip the reason for this mystifying exclusion. After the game at Bramhall Lane there was a break for international and then Mowbray simply forgot that Lamieras had played and named what he thought was his usual XI

I had a soft spot for Jim O'Brien when he played. Absolutely committed. Always wanted to see him do well.

Who's been your favourite player to watch since we got relegated from the Championship?

For me, it has to be Franck Moussa that 13/14 season he was absolutely unplayable and scored some lovely goals too!

Sometimes happens to a player - they play really well for a club such as Frank Moussa then struggle when they leave Frank is still only 29 - It proves football and surrounding and your manager is important - Misfud went the same way when he left us world beater when he was with us, never heard of him after he left

Controversial, but I think Leon Clarke was better than Wilson in that season.
