Favourite ever goal… (1 Viewer)

…that City have scored and favourite ever for another team.

Two obvious ones are Houchen’s header and Moldovan’s v Villa. But recency bias awards it to Gus. Pulled a muscle celebrating it.

And from the 1998 World Cup. Jaw-dropping brilliance and added bonus of great Barry Davies commentary

It used to be Huckerby vs Man Utd, but recently, given the situation, the comeback and the commentary, I love Haji’s late winner vs Wolves. McCoist’s “Ohh no” just gets me every time.

Favourite from another team is Bergkamp’s vs Newcastle, just the most ridiculous piece of skill followed by the calmest finish.

The Bergkamp goal is a great shout. For me it’s Zidane against Bayern Leverkusen. Fav Cov goal - I’ll go Wright against Wolves. Obviously not the best goal, but the one I went craziest for where the outcome was good for us.

Apparently they had practised the layoff and finish all week in training and Wright didn’t hit the target often , did it when counted though

Madness, that’s proper magic of the cup stuff. Had we not been robbed in the semis, that would’ve been one of the most legendary underdog runs to a final.

I loved the mental reaction from our fans as much as the goal!

Moldovan against Villa, Houchens Header, Wrights winner at Wolves, in any order.

I sat in the Holte End for this match, sitting on my hands for most of the game as it was quite a toxic atmosphere amongst the Villa fans. Resorted to joining in with them slagging off their own players, just to release some tension.

Went to the front of the stand, when everyone had left, to let out a solitary clenched fist. Clocked there was a guy not stood too far away from me and shit myself - I’ll never forget his words..”It’s ok mate, I’m from Eastern Green!”

Great day 😀

What a day, valentines day as I remember, ended up in The Penny Black in town, full of City dancing around. I had to take the ex out the night before.

Wright's winner at Wolves with McCoist's commentary just can't be beaten.

Keanes vs Arsenal for me, just for the "how tf" factor. Other would be Mexes overhead kick.

Edit. Just watched the highlights and Hadjis goal was naughty too Like Ronaldinhos against chelsea.

Going by goals that seemingly concluded a game.

First
Ultimately cancelled out by late equaliser by Leeds but the excitement and deafening noise of Keith's goal against Leeds was an incredible moment.

Second
Victor's winning goal in our 4-3 win against Man Utd.

Third
Killers winning goal v Luton in 1985.

Fourth
Darren's winning goal against Man Utd.

Fifth
Only fifth as plenty of time to go.
Lloyd's shot/cross against Tottenham.
Just like Keith's goal, can still see it in my mind, etched into my memory forever.

Spoilt in recent years. Biamou and McNultys goals at notts county, Hamer in the play off semi and final, wright in the quarters and semi final and clearly the best of the lot, Amadou Bakayoko Vs Fleetwood. Outside of cov, the Qatar world cup final had some incredible goals/moments, as was Tschabalala for South Africa in the opening of 2010 wc

I can't get on board with you using the first names of players I'm afraid

I was in the main stand on my own. Thought i had hidden it well until the bloke behind me said ‘you’re cov aren’t you’ .
Inmoved at half time next to the city fans. There was about 10-15 cov in the end block then.
the thing remember more than the goal was bosnichs wonder save in the first half.

Some good shuts for the second part of the question here: Favourite goals not scored by The City

in terms of the first, to pick one not yet mentioned, Telfer at Filbert Street. Backs to the wall for the whole 2nd half with 10 men, mad goalmouth scramble, breakaway, the realisation it was Telfer who was through, then a sweet as you like ping into the top corner. Bedlam.
Excellent shout, and Froggatt’s moments later, ended up rows away from where I started.

Hamer v Luton playoff final for pure emotion.
Another vote for the Van Basten volley for the best goal ever scored. Unbelievable hit.
