[h=3]Coventry boss previews City clash.[/h]Steven Pressley admits his Coventry City side have a “far from ideal” situation to contend with when they entertain City in their first ‘home’ fixture at Sixfields in Northampton.
The Sky Blues boss has seen his team beaten 3-2 twice already this campaign, against Crawley Town in the league and Leyton Orient in the cup.
But both of those fixtures were away games. Now Coventry will embark on their first home fixture played away from the Ricoh Arena.
And previewing his side’s maiden Sixfields clash, Pressley said: “It’s far from an ideal situation or solution. We’re not trying to project that type of image.
“But that’s the situation for the football staff and players and we have to get on with it. We have to continue to act in a professional manner.
“We have to try and get results for this football club. Success this season will be our younger players progressing and this football club still being in [League One]. Anything beyond that is a bonus.”
Bristol City fans have already snapped up in excess of 600 tickets, with early projections suggesting away fans could even outnumber those in Coventry colours on Sunday.
Pressley admitted: “I’d hope for a packed stadium and an intense atmosphere but the signs are we may not have that.
“I don’t know what atmosphere to expect on Sunday. I just hope we can create a team that makes our supporters proud.”
Carl Baker will be absent for the Sky Blues after his red card at Leyton Orient, which was unsuccessfully appealed, triggered a three-game ban.
Former Reading attacker Mathieu Manset has been signed on a free transfer and could be in line for a debut.
