Totally agree CVD. But in the same way I wasn't panicking after the last few games, I'm not getting overly excited by this.

Fair fucks to Robins for changing it up. We looked much better. But of course, one game at a time.

Agreed - the stick he'd have got for that selection if we'd got turned over. Have to admit I logged on to this thread as I turned off when they scored their second, as my nerves wouldn't take it. Definitely a bedwetter at that point !

A manager and squad trying to find their way in a new, more competitive league. Who'd have thought it might take a bit of time?!

And not only that...I still think we've been behind the curve as 21 other teams have played more football than us this year. Our match sharpness is coming back and it'll continue to get better.

The over reaction to losing some games against teams much better than us has been absurd. Football fans are so fickle.

We're going to lose lots of games. People need to accept that.

I love fannies, and bed wetters too actually (adult). I don't care where it happens, even Wycombe, and there will be no drama.

So excited by the set up tonight. It was just functional all over the pitch. A formation that our young players can grow and flourish in and our older heads can add experience to.
Robins frustrates the fuck out of me on the field when it's not working because it always takes him at least 3 or 4 games to sort it out, but he always gets there. Roll on Wednesday and another step towards mid table supremacy!!

Apologies, bit of a cheeky thread to start.
A few beers and the excitement of the win. Long way to go yet but great result

While I agree about inflexibility, you could argue it's a strength that Robins gives things enough time to see if they gel or not before jumping - saves a load of panicky chopping and changing every game, where nobody ends up with a clue what's going on, including the players.

No need to apologise...everything you said was spot on. I think I purposely swerve this place more when the Samaritans number is on speed dial for many. Total overreaction forgetting what MR has achieved in his time here.

Like I said though, no need to get mega excited after last night. It was a step in the right direction. We need to back it up with at least 2 points from Forest and Watford...ideally 3 at Forest.

Love a tipsy post though!

I see what you're saying. For me the box was fundamentally broken at this level though with the players we have available to play in it, so for me no amount of gel was ever going to work and yesterday's changes is the justification of that.
I look back at the Middlesboro game as 3 points lost - last night's team and formation would have won that. But I suppose the counter argument to that is whether the team would have worked and performed like they did yesterday if Middlesboro hadn't of happened.

The next game should give us an answer.

Ultimately, over the years, we've had plenty of false dawns, one-off games that we then resort to shite.

I'm keener on trends, and where Robins has won me over is the previous season and a half. I've always been convinced you keep things simple lower league level, keep it 4-4-2, and early start when back in League 1 seemed to back that up. But (and apparently Viveash had a battle to persuade him to be more nuanced with his systems) ultimately, imposing a style and pattern of play on the club has worked for us. There'll be blips, but we've progressed far more than just the results, really. The club side looks vaguely cohesive.

Wycombe aren’t that far behind us now
The condescending comments about them on here have been pretty embarrassing.

Was gonna say fair play to Wycombe. But I think I’ll hold it in.

they're 4 points behind us, I think the most the gap has been when we've been on the same number of games played is 5.

It’s not against you, more those who seem to think we’re 1980’s AC Milan compared to them when in reality we’re going to be battling it out with them at the wrong end of the table.
