Fan Advisory Board Applications

Blatant discrimination in the application form to not permit anyone aged 100 or older to apply.

Anyone who wants the role is unsuitable.
Like politicians.
Nah, anyone who applies, not anyone who wants. I'd love to do it and would be far more representative of our average fan base, but whilst opinionated, it's pointless applying as i won't get on (apart from being arsed to) and then I'd be disagreeing with the rest of the yes people who are selected and therefore seen as disruptive.

It won't actually achieve anything anyway, it'll be sucking up to the powers, pretending they're listening, make an occasional token gesture and then share some information that they want to get out there under the guise of being transparent.

Be mix of cunts who want things like trans toilets, half time prayer rooms and Rekordrlig served behind the bar coupled with those who just want to thank Doug for ripping us all off and suggest higher pricing.

Sort the trains out, sort the getting away from the car parks, get some decent beer at decent prices, put the players names on the scoreboard and a team that competes on the pitch. It doesn't need a group, just some backbone with the local authorities and a bit common sense.

Its quite clever of the club to have individual people chosen- when Pete was representing this forum it was hard to disagree with as the points he made were discussed and shared with hundreds of people first- now it will just be whatever random people are chosen throwing out there.

Yep. Get the drummer in.

Have seen on social media it's just people telling each other how good they will be.

Who do individuals actually represent, if they are just individuals?

The fancast weirdos.

Common sense would assume that you aren’t some genius thinking of things numerous other smart and committed people have thought of tbf. I appreciate that’s not what it means these days it means “everyone’s stupid but me”. Which is certainly a common thought but not particularly sensible.

Your views don’t represent the average fan.

Your views don’t represent the average fan.
Based on what? Which of the 5 points i suggested do you think the average fan disagrees with?

Edit: And better still, lets see what YOU think the average fan wants and that I'd be against?

The twitter twats are already deciding their candidate , bad case of main character syndrome on there 😂
So we'll end up with the Leicester fan who creates multiple accounts pretending to be a Cov fan, a fair weather YouTuber or Martin taking pictures of his sausage into meetings.

Take your pick from this “Be mix of cunts who want things like trans toilets, half time prayer rooms and Rekordrlig served behind the bar coupled with those who just want to thank Doug for ripping us all off and suggest higher pricing.’

A fan who thinks like that is unlikely to represent the future or be part of the FAB.

Try harder. I said they're the people who would be on the board and based on you wanting those over the average fan, It seems I'd be right.

The points I made for the hard of thinking were:

1) sort the trains out
2) sort the getting away from the car parks
3) get some decent beer at decent prices
4) put the players names on the scoreboard
5) a team that competes on the pitch

Now tell me again which the average fan (and I don't mean you!) would disagree with??

I don’t disagree with your 5 points, well possibly point 3. I have never understood why fans think they should pay less for a pint at an event than they do at a decent pub or alternative event like a festival or cinema. Choice I agree with.

I disagree with your bigoted and demeaning perspective of anyone who might have a different view to you.

The club has zero influence on one and probably two in fairness

You've missed the point completely. I was suggesting what the average fan wants and I'm pretty sure that's what it would be. The rest is waffle and sidespin for people to pretend to feel important. I also didn't say cheap beer even on three, I said good beer at good prices. That just means fair and not rip off. It also helps the club if they are spending their money at the ground rather than the local pubs and clubs then dashing up at 2.30/2.45.

As for my 'bigoted views', I didn't say any of those things were invalid or that their voices shouldn't be heard. It's more about these type of platfoms being stuffed with ensuring they're inclusive rather than representative for fear of offending and this FAB will be no different.

It’s true that we’d all like to see diversity around the ground and that some communities widely represented in the City, for whatever reason don’t represent or support the club at games in the same proportion. I hope that’s not they don’t feel welcome or that it’s not inclusive, because it’s not what it was in the 80s. The amount of families and female supporters has massively increased. Other demographics on race, religion or sexuality perhaps not as much, but definitely still higher.

However, I’d still bet 50% of our core support remains white, straight, male, aged 20-60. Therefore to be representative of the fanbase, you’d expect 50% of the advisory board to be similar, but it won’t be.

Tbh though, despite the pretence, as long as another fan (or customer) comes along to fill any empty voids, then the club doesn’t actually give a shite anyway.

Agree, but it's a list of what (imo) the average fan wants. Whether it's realistic or not is another discussion.

That’s the problem- what are the terms of reference for this or else it just becomes a tick box exercise for the club to get a bronze award for fan engagement or whatever.

Yes there are long term complex and knotty issues like the train station that absolutely should be kept on the agenda so the club has to respond with an update every 6 months or so…and then there are short term pain points that are easily fixable (eg scoreboard)

But also should be accountable as a place to provide answers to the Hull ticketing fiasco , what went wrong and what steps are in place to prevent a reoccurrence.

Too much now seems to go through Doug personally and reliant on him appearing on CWR and for them to ask him the right questions.
