Perfect example of how the way you discipline your children will reflect on their own temperament. The bloke cannot manage his emotions and that stems down to how his father raised him. Russell was right in the interview he gave last year when saying he lashes out when things don’t go his way. He’s a bully and a complete embarrassment.

It was 10 sec stop go, which is the heaviest penalty available to the stewards other than DSQ.

Met the father a few times around the Hungarian GP. Arrogant SOB. Had first hand reports from friends who worked for Red Bull F1 that's he's an arrogant, unpleasant pain in the arse. Not surprised to see he has a legal history of abusing people Inc. Women.

We finally have Max's forward facing onboard.

Yeah, he knew exactly what he was doing.

PR exercise, nothing more.

He is consistent with his attitudes in interviews when there’s controversy. He’s just an arrogant spoilt brat.

Dealing with a raceless weekend by bingeing the classic race highlights on the F1 youtube channel. Quite a few from the late 90's/early 00's so huge hits of nostalgia with the V10's, teams/drivers from when I was a kid, refuelling

I know it's obvious being 20-30 years ago but it's funny how much less slick the TV coverage is compared to now:
- Fewer/crap camera angles
- Regularly cut away from key moments like overtakes and spins to leave the commentators speculating what might have happened.
- Infrequent graphics so unless they're in shot you generally have no idea where anyone is, you just have to assume they're still where they were last time you saw them
- Brundle calmly explaining someone has lost a front wing then 5 seconds later James Allen yelling "CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! THIS RACE IS INSANE!" out of nowhere

Ahh the good ol' days.

For me it went downhill as soon as the hybrid era started. 2014 onwards. Bar 2021 (which was ruined by Masi) there’s not been too many classics.

I actually think this generation of cars are even worse. So heavy, slow corners are ridiculously slow and they’re too big.

Peak of ITV F1 coverage was cutting to an ad break...just as some lunatic in a kilt ran on to the Hangar straight during the 2003 British Grand Prix while the cars were approaching at racing speed, leaving us all to wonder if we were coming back to the guy having gone splat, or not.

Turned out everyone missed him and he got rather angrily rugby tackled by a marshal and dragged away.

ITV also missed the last three laps of a San Marino Grand Prix because they went to a break once. Actually a decent one for Imola as well, 2006 maybe.

Ha that British GP is on there except no ad break this time, get to watch everyone have to swerve round him. Imola 2005 is on there but haven't watched it yet, which is probably the one you're on about.

2026 calendar confirmed, appears they've made an effort to group continents together a bit more to reduce travel. New Madrid track replacing Imola

Madrid can get in bin.

Barcelona is one of the better tracks now they’ve got rid of the last chicane. I am surprised there’s now two Spanish GP’s. Although, they might serve alcohol at Madrid. I

Hate how much they’re coming away from traditional circuits for street circuits.

Yeah, the racing at Imola wasn't great, but the bits I've seen from this new Madrid circuit, I'd be surprised if it's not even worse. It looks awful, I can't see a single clear overtaking spot.

The only hope it has is chaos. Otherwise, it'll be a total bore.

F1 is selling its soul for cash

Imola may not be brilliant for overtaking but as a track its one of the best on the planet

Interesting Monaco isnt on may bank holiday weekend and no longer paired with the Indy 500 now

Two Spanish GPs is just a quirk of the contracts, Barcelona's ends next year. I'm guessing Madrid wanted to be seen as a new thing for the new regulations.

Agreed. Looks like it will be divebombs up the inside of T1, DRS between T3-4, then follow each other for 18 corners

tbf the season finale for two years in the 80s took place in a casino's car park so it's nothing new.

Cracking lap by Russell. That could make turn one a bit spicy.

Do we even bother to mention Lando?

You know i will

Episode 15 of Lando bottlejobs

I stand by it, George would wipe the floor with anyone bar Leclerc and Verstappen if he was given the right car

Considering he's got a new front suspension that's meant to help him get a better feel for the front bed, it's not great is it.

Surprised McLaren didn't have a crack on the medium tyre.

Ooof, George just having a dig at Max about having a few more points spare on his licence

Lando clearly trying too hard, says a lot that Will was pretty much coaching him through Q3 after he missed the chicane to focus on taking the right line rather than trying to brake later.

Quite a good grid all round for me. If George and Max are fighting that'll give Oscar a chance, weather doesn't suit Mercedes so Antonelli could end up holding people up, Lando and Charles trying to come through but have to get past Alonso first. All set to be a juicy one (if I haven't just jinxed it)

Russell is from my current town (Brundle lives in my village) so followed him closely from F3 all the way to F1. He absolutely dominated Norris (and Albon) in F2. He’s a much better driver than people give him credit for.

Indeed. Put it this way, if Russel was in the McLaren, he would almost have the title sewn up

Even more so now. Not just because of the points but the mental side of things, Lando's trying too hard now and back to giving off the sense he doesn't really believe he can do it. It's annoying because he had good pace yesterday, just a stupid, stupid move to try and make.

My unintentional dose of copium came from carrying on bingeing old races last night. Watched Baku 2017 and saw Alonso and Vandoorne floating around on the edge of the points, a season where if we didn't retire or DNS we were barely scraping top 10. Come a long way from then to being annoyed that one driver threw away good points but is still 2nd while the other one extended their lead in the championship.

Supposed to be going tomorrow on a freebie but don't think i fancy 9 hours in the car in these temps we've got here (34/35C). It's actually a terrible track in terms of location when it comes to hotels etc. Graz is the nearest decent option and that's a good hour away.
It's a big race for Lando - just has to convert this pole into a win. Hopefully he gets his start right.
