I thought I was on the Antarctica thread there for a moment.Gary Caldwell appointed Wigan manager.
He's been there before I think. I don't know what their budget is like these days but it feels a bit like they've got a hangover of expectations from their days of being bankrolled by a wealthy benefactor. It's similar to Blackburn in some respects.Gary Caldwell appointed Wigan manager.
He’s left Exeter who themselves are in a spot of bother financially I think. He's been there before I think. Would be delighted for him if he got to play in the championship. Seemed such a promising talent in league 2.Tom bayliss too
Wish him all the best in his recovery but was thinking it'd been a while since he was injured so was due one.
Talented and was part of our climb back, but never scored enough goals for me.Sheaf will end up being one of those players who's body let him down unfortunately, could easily have been one of those players who was a top end Championship player knocking on the door of a Prem side
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and flogging him would have gone down like a lead balloon after we had just lost COH on a free but we should have flogged him to Luton for whatever fee was being banded about (I am sure it was north of 10m) in the Summer of 2024

They spent that on Mcguinness from CardiffLuton would never have paid even close to £10m. I don't remember them paying much in the way of transfer fees even when they had their year in the PL.
I stand corrected. If they spent that on him then maybe we could have sold Sheaf for £10m!They spent that on Mcguinness from Cardiff
They were sniffing round him summer before last after they’d just dropped out of the PremI stand corrected. If they spent that on him then maybe we could have sold Sheaf for £10m!
Was the interest in Sheaf before or after the cup semi final year though, as I thought he was instrumental in helping us get there even if he did end up missing a penalty in the shoot out?
I swear there was something about them making an enquiry and Sheaf saying he wasn't interested, so they never followed it up?They were sniffing round him summer before last after they’d just dropped out of the Prem
