Segunda B has mixed standards across four geographical confrences, but it's generally non-league level.

Segunda B is part-time for some teams. They play all their fixtures on Sunday at 12 so they can get back the same day and go to work on the Monday if they need to.

Stevenson might as well have gone on loan to Leamington Brakes really, or at a push Dagenham and Redbridge.

You could say that, but living out here in GC i see how much skill even the local guys on the street have.

They are crazy for the game, on the beach, by the harbour, in the car park, by the complex swimming pool they are always kicking a ball around. The ball retention levels and passing are great.

So i think that it could really help players develop there own skills and also learn to play against more skillful players. I think Wolves have this one right. In our lower leagues it will be about battling and manning up, but not so much ball skills, play retention etc...

Courtney Baker-Richardson made his first team debut for Swansea today and on TV.

Sent off for a shocking tackle after 4 mins.

Stuart Beavon has finally scored a goal, I know it's hard to believe but it's actually true

I find it staggering how Baker-Richardson went from Leamington to Swansea, his record wasn't even that good (1 in 3). Football is confusing.

Ryan Kent playing in the old firm. Rangers barely been out of their half, Tierney giving him the run around down that side

James Maddison's display against Liverpool was so assured it looked like the Leicester midfielder had been playing in the Premier League for years, according to Jamie Redknapp.

Despite the 2-1 loss at the King Power on Saturday, the 21-year-old midfielder - who only joined the club from Norwich for an initial £22m in June - still produced a standout performance in the 'hole' against the league leaders.

"He ran the game today in a midfield full of international players and I was surprised he [Claude Puel] took him off with 10 minutes to go as I would have kept him on," said the Sky Sportspundit.

"I thought he was fantastic, 21 years old, fourth game in the Premier League and he looks like he has been here for years.

"I was so impressed and was looking forward to watching him today. He is so comfortable on the ball, plays little one-twos, always looking to pass forward.

"And also the first to press, wins a lot of balls back high up the pitch and I just thought his imagination and passing in the midfield area, which was so congested, was just brilliant, it really was.

"He was so clever and unlucky not to get his goal, but it was a fantastic tackle by Joe Gomez, the little reverse ball."

Maddison was included in the England U21 squad in midweek, but Redknapp thinks he is just the type of player the seniors are currently lacking.

"One of the problems we [England] had in the World Cup was we had enough players who could control the ball and pass it," said the former England international and Liverpool midfielder.

"And at times we struggled in that area where you think about Luka Modric, who can receive the ball off the line and take it in a No 10 role, which is so hard to do.

"He was so clever and unlucky not to get his goal, but it was a fantastic tackle by Joe Gomez, the little reverse ball."

You’ve posted constantly about how rubbish Jordan Clarke, Conor Thomas and Bigirimana (all still playing professional football btw) are over the years when they’ve been at other clubs but as soon as a few are playing at the highest level people need to move on.

Funny that. Next you’ll be telling everyone Maddison is only playing in the Premier League because he got to play with Jim O’Brien for two years

Just watched the highlights of Dundee v Motherwell (sad, I know!) and Bigi seemed to be taking all their free kicks - and they all seemed half decent/intelligent. I remember getting really ticked off when he took them for us, as they were usually the polar opposite!

Always remember that pen he chipped straight into the keepers arms against Southampton on Sky. We won 4-1 though in the end (how times change)

Just watched it myself. He was excellent against Rangers as well. Wasn't always starting last season but looks really good this and getting noticed.

Maybe no real shame in that. Think Tierney is the best British left back. Sure he will be playing for one of Europe's biggest clubs next season (apologies to Celtic).

Can’t believe Fleck hasn’t had a Scotland call up yet. Been a key player for Sheffield United in the Chanpionship over the last 2 seasons, still a good age and hardly as if Scotland are blessed with top quality in the middle of the park

Not sure I agree that Scotland won't have much ahead of him. They may not have players of old in the centre of the park but they have some v solid players. McGregor (celtic), Armstrong (Southampton), Cairney (Fulham), McGinn (Villa) and maybe McTominay (Man Utd). Fleck is maybe a bit unfortunate but he's battling with Snodgrass, Ritchie, McArthur, MacDonald, Christie and a few others.

Hopefully articles like this can wake up clubs and governing bodies to support players and staff more as football is a very tough industry no matter how much money they earn or how good you think they have it from the outside

Agree - the black cloak fits everyone from all walks of life. Personal experience of losing a child and we had no idea of the turmoil in their life. Never without a smile on the outside but unable to face life when the door was closed. Seems it's now considered an "option".

The only time I saw him nearly scoring, he fell on the ball and stopped it from crossing the goal line

Adge I really don’t understand you

You post about referees getting no respect from fans/players and that the best referees are always in the stands. Yet, you also post slagging off professional football players whilst you sit in the stands
