Troy Deeney talks about Dabo in the last 10mins

Not surprising really. He was a total nightmare for us for several seasons before the penalty kick. To hear he finished second last in the training reports (last place had been injured for 7 weeks and still sprinted four times more than Dabo) isn't a surprise either. The Forest Green fans despise him for good reason. I know Deeney comes across as unprofessional, but everyone's hero Fantaky is on another level.

He wasnt talking about Dabo regarding the plyer not sprinting. Dabo had a shit game but he isnt calling Dabo lazy. You are making shit up to slag Dabo off

Who was he talking about then? He's going on about him for ten minutes or so.

As Deeney said, conference players were making him look like he had never kicked a ball before. I don't really need to make shit up about Dabo. Dreadful footballer who cost us a place in the Premier League.

The last bit is massively unfair mate, massively

It's brutal, but it is true. Everyone knew he would miss, and this bullshit about him 'having the courage to step forward' is severely misguided.

His career since, and what fellow professionals have to say about him is pretty clear.

I wish it wasn't that way either, but sometimes fans sentimental perceptions cloud things and it distorts reality.

I don't buy that he was awful for us , he wasn't was he ?

I can remember many good performances in league 1 and first couple championship seasons , he was always better defensively than offensively

But a penalty shootout is literally Often the luck of the draw

The last two seasons with us he was taking the piss mate.

First season fantastic, I agree. He lived off that legacy though and was awful for a really long part of his city career.

Youve slagged him and clearly didnt rate him even in the seasons before the playoff final. Dabo was instrumental and one of our best players in the seasons leading to our promotion.
if your going to humiliate and publically slag a player off at least get your facts right instead of making up bullshit to suit your agenda

Absolutely agree with this bit. Fully lived off that first season and woeful for a good 2 years, like proper woeful. A lot of people refused to believe what was in front of their eyes though which is something of a theme.

Why are you being so sensitive? The last two seasons with us he was absolutely dreadful.

It always amazes me how deluded people get with Dabo because of that first season. He was good then absolutely, but after that, generally terrible. The rest of what you are saying is just emotional outpouring.

Whether you feel his career at Coventry City is fairly represented by the phrase 'dreadful footballer' or not, Fankaty Dabo wasn't on the pitch when we conceded our goal to Luton Town at Wembley.

Didn't the players involved in us conceding that goal in a really poor first half have just as big or bigger impact on the end result against Luton than whether Fankaty had managed to keep us in a penalty shootout we still could have lost regardless of whether that penalty had been scored or not?

As well as our League 1 season, Dabo was also pretty good in our first season in the Championship. He then suffered a hip injury I think it was, and apart from the odd game here and there after that he was never the same player he had been before. MR kept him for the next couple of seasons clearly because he hoped he could return to the player he had previously been.

It was tragic for him that his last kick for us was the deciding penalty in the play off final, but better players have missed penalties in their time, and to be honest I blame MR and the other players who had not yet taken a penalty as much as Dabo, for leaving it to him to take.

Really? Dabo was a very good footballer just got impacted by injuries and perhaps pressure to play by his club. Someone else should have taken penalty at that stage. Obviously penalties are missed all the time in penalty shoots outs , We had 120 minutes to win that game and I'm sure other players made mistakes during that 120 minutes.

Certainly would not have happened under todays model,or you'd hope not!

And you say I have no right to a footballing opinion. Dear oh dear Earlsdon.

The fact you're using Troy Deeney as a credible source to back up one of your many terrible takes sums it up really.

Generally agree, although I’m unconvinced he was entirely to blame for that. We’ve spoken about his injuries and the fact Robins used to leave him on the pitch when it was clear he couldn’t move.

So you think Dabo was good for the entirety of his career at CCFC?

I know you are struggling to find yourself after claiming we should sell Gyökeres for 15 million to the first bidder, but this isn't it.

Excellent in L1 and was largely fine in his first season in the Champ despite it being injury hit.

Then injuries caught up to him, his body broke down and he struggled to perform at the levels he had hit previously.

Do you even watch games out of curiosity? Given that you just hilariously referenced Troy Deeney - who recently claimed he had a tonne of attributes better than Harry Kane - as a point of reference I'm guessing probably not.

Those in glass houses my unhinged friend, your posting history is absolutely abysmal. To the point where I physically don't know why you bother.

Remember your meltdown when you called someone a beta cuck then called them out for a charity boxing match? A touch sensitive aren't we.

There's a lot of projection in this post.

You can't say to someone they are wrong for saying Dabo was rubbish for some of his time here, and then basically agree with it. You are just arguing for the sake of it, and try and get a bit of pride back after your embarrasments on here.

What next, a rerun of last season and having a meltdown because daddy didn't want to pay for the prise rises for a box? Perhaps a rally call for the Wasps Christmas fixture? Don't worry, we remember.

Unhinged and fragile are two things I would say you qualify for. You've lost it in the last 24 hours.

I think the first year back in the championship did Dabo in, he got injured we had a Covid outbreak in the squad and he came back early and was never the same player

He was quite clearly struggling with injury and Robins was insistent on playing him despite this. I won't call him a 'dreadful' player (your words) because he wasn't. He just broke down and was nowhere near the player he was during the L1 promotion campaign. There's a fundamental difference.

Don't you worry Earlsdon I'm still firmly in the box. I'd offer you tickets but that would require you to actually attend games.

Which is handy actually as I'd probably rather sit next to a rabies riddled beaver for 90 minutes than you.

You legitimately called someone out for a fight on a football forum over absolutely nothing...yet I'm fragile.

Yes, you are fragile. You went off about my book as a way to get back at me on a football forum. The glass houses thing is lost on you.

The rest of what you have written is just words of a very angry man. Rabies riddled beaver? You really have lost your mind. Go and support Wasps like you did previously, and leave the football for others. It's embarrasing.

Not sure where the Wasps thing has even come from when I've never been to a Wasps game but if that's the stick you want to beat with me please go right ahead.

Angry man? You do realise there's written proof of you calling someone a 'cuckold beta male' on here.

Was probably worth mentioning the fact his hip injury clearly had a lasting impact and that was more than likely the reason for his performances; not a lack of effort on his part imo.

I do agree though once we were in the Championship he was largely out of his depth.

I don’t blame him for the penalty as it could have been any player that missed.

Dabo went into serious decline after his bad injury, but up to then was good for us, and outstanding at L1 level. He’s never got over that injury.

It’s not his fault we weren’t promoted, Luton outplayed us for large chunks, and he wasn’t even on the pitch for a lot of the game. And even if he’d scored his penalty we would not have been promoted.

Deeney wasn’t even referring to him in the podcast

apart from that it’s all very entertaining, crack on 😁

'I've never been to a Wasps game'. Let's just leave it there.

Supporting that snakey club and attacking anyone for criticising them are all the hallmarks for a winning personality. To then be too much of a pussy to admit it isn't a shock either.

Honestly, I would advise going back into hiding for another 6-9 months as a minimum.
