Keeping tabs on an ex player and wanting him specifically to do well (whilst ccfc also likely have a sell-on clause) doesn’t mean you’re a Sheffield utd fan.

There has been just as much positivity every time Jodi Jones scores or does well on this thread, doesn’t mean we’re Notts county fans. Just commenting about ex players on *checks notes* the ex player thread

The people going out of their way to constantly tell us how little they care about Hamer now are so cool.

Might spend the rest of my days watching over Zain Westbrook wallowing in the pits of L2. It would make less people cry. Or am I not allowed to support Doncaster as well?

I do think genuinely people who attend matches have less interest in ex players and their careers elsewhere

They could save a lot of trouble by just copying and pasting their responses in advance. There must be a schedule function they can use to help too.

Genuinely I don’t understand why anyone cares about ex players. Hamer could break his leg and never play again or score 20 goals in a season in the premiership - who actually cares

tbf I'm always interested how they get on - reflects well on us as a club if they do well too, will probably encourage others to come if they see what we can launch them to, and there might even be a financial benefit to us.

I do however still struggle with the total obsession over Hamer while Gyokeres is seen as a bit meh, whatever. I mean surely the difference in level between him last season and our current strikers is enough evidence that he deserves the same love-in, if there must be one?

Andy Whing, new manager of Solihull. BT Sport interviewed him before live game against Kiddie.

Will always be known for that goal in the last game at HR.

Well if we have a sell on clause it would be useful if he did well

You have to go to some effort to find out how Gyokeres is getting on. It's pretty hard to avoid hearing about Hamer.

Also most people think Hamer was the better player.

And the bit about Hamer being the better player is, once again, showing utter disrespect to Gyokeres.

it was Hamer Robins was willing to sell start of last season ahead of Gyokeres and O'Hare after all, and Gyokeres who went for the most cash. Just because he doesn't play golf or smile as much seems to go against him.

Agree on that one, it's recency bias as Hamer was particularly good at the end of the season. Vik was an absolute monster and dragged that team to the points tally it got over the course of the season.

hamer wanted to stay though, it was only big bad doug forcing him out by not paying him 20k per week, otherwise he’d still be here….…maybe

I’m with you though, I want both to do well as long as it’s never against us. Might earn us a few more quid and as you say other players will appreciate our role in their careers which could be an attraction

And the fact £10mil worth of strikers (two of them) are currently not fit to lace his boots.

And that's not a negative reflection on them, but more what they have to replace.

It's not disrespectful at all. It's a subjective judgement.

I really do think Hamer is a better player than Gyokeres because of his all round game. He scores, defends, takes set pieces and orchestrates plays by making pinpoint cross field passes. Once he got his disciplinary issues under control, he was on another level. The fact that none of our midfielders have scored to date and Hamer’s already got 2 in the EPL makes you realize what a special talent he was. The only thing I respect Gyokeres for is that he made his intentions for leaving us very clear and early in the window without stringing us along.

Weird that everyone seems to have chosen to forget how good Gyokeres was. Opposition managers were always salivating over him and he was widely regarded as the best in the division.
