Jodi Jones gone to Notts County...a big drop.

Duncan Ferguson going in at FGR, him and Doyle as a managerial duo?

Big Dunc and Doyle, both super passionate with big expectations of people… playing for them would be gruelling

I am sure there is another club looking for a non scoring centre forward, who am amazed he has had any clubs.

They paid money for him and put him on a 2 year deal in August.

I reckon if I can get an agent I can get a deal.

Why take a non-league job over L2?

Probably many factors come into the equation. Team style of play, who the manager is, game time, contract, league position. I'd take high flying Notts County in the Conference than say a struggling hoofball Harrogate in League 2

Top half of the conference is probably a better standard than the bottom half of league 2

Oxford ave attendance is 8100

Notts Country is also over 8100 in last 10 matches.

About the same FWIW.

(Source footballwebpages)

Totally irrelevant and of course L1 is a higher playing standard.

Just thought it an unusual stat that non-league teams are getting high attendances. I’m sure they are also exempt from FFP rules.

Maybe he can earn more in at NC than in L2.

Wrexham and County often get higher gates than some Championship teams TBF. County aren’t a small club.

I’m surprised Big Dunc hasn’t been offered the Everton vacancy. I thought he did a really good job on a temp basis before.

He’d also murder Doyle.

Could be, hard to tell. Ian Burchnall who was sacked as manager did have an awful run, whenever I saw him he gave off rabit in the headlights vibes, looked well timid. I could see why he would need a Doyle type around to back him up.

I reckon he’s alright with it.

He doesn’t strike me as being someone who’d bear prejudices…just someone who doesn’t take any shit.

I’m basing this assessment on absolutely nothing.

Ex City loanee Grant Ward signs for Bristol Rovers after being released by Blackpool.

Always liked Ward and am sure he rejected a permanent return after his loan spell. Played well for us looks like a very injury blighted career.

No idea! But as you point out, others seem to have got him playing well…or at least scoring goals.

For some reason Peterborough always seem to end up with high scoring strikers and useless defence.

Maybe it’s a strategy - get the striker high in the scoring charts - sell on - go again. Does JCH take all their penalties and in-range free kicks?

He definitely takes all their pens. Not sure about free kicks though.

He really wasn't that bad for us. Was good second half of the league 2 season. Some really really good games where he bullied oppositions (Crewe away). Then he was very underused at start of first league 1 season before he went to Rovers

I remember how bad and ineffective he was in those opening months of the L1 season though. Made it all the more surprising when he started banging them in for Bristol Rovers. Before then and including at Cov his stats weren't great at all.
