And in the civilised world

This person should not be treated as civilised. He should be chained up 24/7 and food delivered through a hatch - and no preference regarding food either

We are though or we were

They dont get that. They think their blood lust reflects badly on the target, not them.

Makes me think of “Christians” who wonder why atheists don’t murder and rape because the only thing stopping them is God, not decency.

Revenge fantasies aside, the issue isn't how civilised the prisoner is.

I don't have revenge fantasies. He should not have any privileges and all human contact be denied until he dies

"I don't have revenge fantasies", says man who devised food distribution scheme for prisoner he wants permanently shackled

Would you want to deal with him? Do you think he deserves any special treatment at all? Should he ever be allowed out of his cell again?

Someone else on here said they should be in a straight jacket - I would accept that as reasonable.

Not really. I don't especially care what he has for dinner or how it's served to him though.

Social services strike again

Not an absolute defence but perhaps slashing a council's budget nearly 40% in real terms has some consequences.

Quick bump for a story that I find absolutely heartbreaking. I have no idea how sentencing works, but 13 years in prison for keeping someone in captivity as your personal slave for 25 years seems off to me.

Wow thats mental. Literally kept like a dog (well worse than people would treat their dog).

So many questions about how it happened and for so long. Did the parents just give her away to her? Why did the kidnappers son only let them know after so long? Didn't anybody need to see this girl for 25 years for the benefits?

Should really be life, the girl who is now in her mid 40s with Learning Difficulties is going to be so damaged!
