I lived in Wales for 4 years and only ever saw anti-English sentiment for rugby and tories. The majority of Welsh will be supporting England - just look at the cricket team how its welcome in Cardiff and a Welshman scored his maiden half century for England today.
Let's not pretend we now the Millwall of world football.

I think it was Harry Kane who said in an interview yesterday that the plan was to take the group stage as easy as possible and conserve energy for the latter stages. When you look at the group of death and how Portugal, France and Germany had no option but to go 100% if they wanted to progress and then all got knocked out in the second round it does seem a clever idea.

How much will Italy's run to the final have tired them? 120 minutes against Austria, a hard tie against Belgium and then 120 minutes against Spain who themselves had to overcome two extra times to get to that point. Italy certainly looked more leggy than Spain towards the end of that match. We of course have had it relatively easy and infact i'd say our best period during the knock out stages was the extra time against Denmark where we looked so much fitter. We also have a number of like for like players and are able to change personnel in many positions without it weakening the 11.

I was worried about Italy having the extra day of rest but them travelling from London to Rome and back again might negate that.

It’s only a couple of hours flight from Luton.

Fabulous atmosphere in London. In Victoria, on the underground and in the walkways and at Euston, all I could hear were England fans signing and chanting.

It was lovely to see and hear. Great spirits all all-round.

I loved that McGregor was still moaning after (if that’s the fight you’re on about)- McGregor is finished.

I would have thought adrenaline alone will mean fatigue doesn’t come into it until maybe the latter stages, which might be good for us as I definitely think we have the stronger bench

This is the big problem I think- Jorginho dominating midfield

Mount’s work rate off the ball is what puts him above Grealish and Foden in that 10 role. His role is massive today in stifling Jorginho.

Kane will also have to drop off and help out too I imagine - but he also needs to keep tabs on Bonucci who has an impressive range of passing for a centre back.

Personally, I trust Southgate and Holland’s approach to tactical planning to get the job done.

Just thinking back at old England teams. 4-4-2 every game. Same players forced into it.

We now don’t know what formation or players are coming in game to game but they still execute the plan to perfection.

The change in the England national team has been phenomenal.

But when we’re talking about fine margins everything counts. An hour on the coach on top of that, getting through customs. You’re looking at 8 hours travelling that we haven’t done.

Aren’t the England team staying near Derby?
They left yesterday I think so it’s not like they’re travelling on the day.

Chiellini said our bench could get to the final of the Euros and I’d say that’s pretty spot on, minus our sub centre backs and goalkeeper.

Being able to take a lot of key players off around the 60 minute mark against Ukraine was massive benefit to us. Against Denmark, we were in complete control because they had very little in the tank whereas we were in cruise control to see the game out.

When was the last time we had such a deep squad. It’s something else.

The best thing is their ages. We’ve got a core that should be with us for a fair few tournaments yet.

The first XI is arguably weaker than the 04-08 generation but you cannot argue that this is the greatest depth we've had atleast in my lifetime, which is 23 years.

Exactly. Tom Cruise Facetimes Harry Kane. Harry Kane does not Facetime Tom Cruise.

I hope Harry said "Aren't you getting a bit too old for Mission Impossible?" And "How tall are you really?"

My Mallorcan neighbours here just played the Italian national anthem over their Alexa, which was then interrupted halfway through by them skipping to God Save the Queen. Think they are fucking with me!
