He said the Trippier free kick was a better moment than any of Cov’s successes over recent years

Don’t get me started. As I’ve said before, I would trade England winning the Euros for City winning a throw in against Forest

In the interview Kane did with Neville he said he’d rather win something with England than at club level, which really surprised me.

I can't fathom loving England more than Coventry .
Coventry I follow all over the country, its my hometown, I live it ...

I love England but not in the same way, I think about Coventry every day ..I think about England when we play .

Well I'm not going to win too many friends then as I would put England.... well.... almost at the same level as Cov, at least at the moment. But then again I guess thats the difference, you can't switch Cov off but England comes and goes a bit. Its different though surely , you can't compare.

Maybe cause there aren't too many players that can ever say they've won an international trophy, whereas if he goes somewhere like Man City he'll win multiple trophies every year.

For an englishman an international trophy is way, way harder to come by

So you’d take England winning the euros over Cov gettin promoted this year?

Did you not think that interview was really surprising. My mate told me to listen and I thought that an hour of Harry Kane would be horrendous but he was actually really honest. Dug out the players for letting Jose down and he just said things that I didn’t expect from him. I honestly thought he was just a yes man but clearly he’s not scared to say what he thinks. If anyone’s interested it is a far better watch than I imagined…

I can actually see it from a players perspective, wanting to win a world Cup or euros more than a Premier league because there clubs are not usually where they stay for their careers but England are always going to be their international team .

I can't understand fans though

If England win it will probably feel a bit like how it feels for a Man Utd fan from Surrey when Man Utd win something. It feels great, you celebrate like mad & party all night but ultimately you're not as closely tied to it as you are with Cov, and you don't 'feel' it quite as much. Thats how I feel anyway.

What often surprises me is how rare it is for a player to stay at the club they support and refuse to leave like I would if I was good enough.

I guess though if you’re at an academy at a young age, you’re playing on a Saturday and not supporting a team so that connection just isn’t there

As my good pal Grendel / Magnuhorse / Mr 1470 would say, the Sky Blues Trust are not here to support the club

I’m not sure where our season ticket seats are but we usually go right at the top on the half way line. If anyone I’ve upset is reading I’m the 6’4 one who looks a bit like Anthony Joshua

In my experience people who support their local club and/or watch their club live at least semi regularly tend to be club. People who support a team because said team is good and who have no real interest in going to live games tend to be country.

Not convinced by this really, a lot of England support tends to come from lower level clubs, seems like the further up the leagues you go the more ‘club’ it is, to the point where some like Liverpool, Man Utd etc make a point of not caring about England

Although having said that a lot of the people who don’t support their local teams are Man Utd etc so maybe there is something in it
