I have been on his case ever since he got the job, but fair dues, he has been absolutely outstanding in this tournament and deserves every single plaudit going.

Hats off to him, and I, like so many other on this forum here and around the country, have to accept that at times we are completely clueless about football.

We've had Kane should be dropped, Sterling isn't good enough, England aren't good enough, Shaw isn't good enough and our defence is awful and we can't defend.

5 games, 5 clean sheets and we look as good as any other team in the competition.

Hands up re: early Southgate criticism. Still find it amazing that we've managed to perform/progress without those key players we expected to be the ones to make the difference (Foden, Grealish and even Mount to a lesser extent) Confident about the semi, but the final will be another level stress wise!!
