3 poor performances, we'd be heading for an even more embarrassing group exit had Sturridge not got the late winner v Wales.

All they do is park the bus and block everything

Playing it around at the back in the last few minutes, get it into the box

Really don't think it would have mattered. All three games we have pressured, lacked width and have no cutting edge. Multitude of strikers but we cannot score

Disagree, Stu. The other games we had zip and pace to our play. With Wilshire and Henderson it all became slow and ponderous and predictable.

Think the midfield changes made a big difference.

How a team so attacker heavy with so much possession can create so little is amazing really. Aside from a regulation block from Vardy early on their keeper has had fuck all to do.

Fuck sake. we could have Portugal now. 10 seconds remaining and what does Henderson do? punt it into the box? try and make 1 last chance? No, Jordan Henderson passes it back towards his keeper, what a fucking clown he is

Works slightly different with the 3rd place qualification now.

It's because we are too narrow, we aren't stretching defences and making space for Vardy and co

Have to disagree with that.

Other tournaments we have been poor and almost hanging on and not played well at all.

This time out that has been 3 games where we have totally dominated. Big difference for me.

England have looked dominant, but they lack a cutting edge up front for the most part. Far too many shots too close to the keeper and not creating enough chances.

This is where the tournament will really change. Knock out. Teams aren't just going to park the bus anymore on the whole and that may well help us.

I think it is nice to be in a tournament for once where we have totally dominated for all 3 group games.

said it earlier same failings as the Russia game. poor around the edge of the box and with the final ball. Also the long range shooting is seriously lacking in quality..

seriously hope it's not Hungary I'll be well outnumbered and if we didn't beat them I'd never hear the end of it.

To be fair to them all 3 teams we have played have sat deep looking for a point. We have to find a way of beating teams that do that

Totally disagree. Massive difference. I would suggest you watch the other two games back. We were much zippier and quicker in our play for the most part.

The midfield movement of Rooney and Alli was infinitely better than Henderson and Wilshire tonight.

like watching City after Christmas last season, loads of possession with no cutting edge.

That's two games in a row though where the defence have hardly even got out of their half.

Nice to dominate games like that, but without any end product that really doesn't help us much at all does it, because we are not winning.

Nobody can be happy with that performance
Wilshire henderson and clyne were rubbish tonight.
Add sterling and kane to that Little list and we can see who won't play again this tournament
Embarrassed that wales finished above us

Clyne?

He was just about our best player after Dier surely?

Everything we did well came through him.

Agree on Henderson and Wilshire though.

From this point on opposition teams will be much less defence committed than what we have encountered so far. Although the quality of defenders will be higher too. I remain to be convinced that against the top sides we actually have the quality up front to hit the back of the net. And some of the errors in defence tonight would've been heavily punished by the Italians, Spanish, French or German strikers
