What is it with fans during this tournament? Is it the French heat getting to people? Croatia 2-1 up, fans throwing on flares, fighting amongst themselves. Why?

The only thing that has changed is there's more teams but that can't be it. So you have to look at something specific to France, the policing, stewarding and general organisation.

Stewarding. Is there even any?

Just watched back the fire cracker / flare / whatever it was going off I that blokes face! Madness you can get something that powerful past 'security'

Great comeback never the less but surely the delay and antics from Croatian fans affected the players

Well managed by Clattenburg mind

Ridiculous. Obviously security checks are not stringent enough.

How come when we play someone like Doncaster at the Ricoh and they bring less than 500 fans we have about 10 empty blocks between fans, netting and loads of police yet here they sit fans a couple of feet from each other with just a handful of stewards to control them?

Everyone should be forced to watch the matches completely naked. That way nothing can be sneaked in. Of course you still have the problem of the bodily orifices.

When is the last time that happened? I really cannot remember. Nearly always put in a damp squib of an effort. First game in 66 we started poorly. First game in 96 we started poorly and nearly every word cup or Euro we put in a poor performance and have to rectify it.

Wouldn't it be nice if just for once we could put in 3 good group stage performances.

Agree, this is the first time in my memory we have at least performed well, and for the first time, we are being positive going forward, if we can become more clinical, it will be exciting, don;t think we will win, but think we could reach the semis

Getting a lot of criticism for my choice of works (on FB too.....).

What I mean is did we really create many keeper testing chances? 5 out of 20 shots were on target, but was Hennessy forced in to any saves that weren't standard? Its OK having possession, and boy did we have a lot of it, but if we want to go places, we need to get more out of games.

Yes, teams who get wins after oppositions park the bus must be doing well. But will that playing like that get us far in this competition? I don't think it will.

Also, id put money on that if we'd drawn that game, which we almost did, there would be a lot more criticism around, even people calling for Roy's head, but because we won it at the death, that's almost been put on hold.

Think your points have been valid, but would argue we have been getting into really good positions and hitting them wide rather than even forcing saves. Sterling miss against wales, Lallana against russia, Kane could have got a tap in against Russia, but seemed leggy. Also Akinfeev pulled off a great save in the Russia game from rooney's shot. Would say we have created a lot of good openings, but haven't managed to hit the target, so the 5 on target stat may be a bit misleading.

One of the new rules that didn't really need changing but has been changed.

Aslong as it goes full circle (and how many refs are actually going to watch for that?!?) I think

Officially came in on 1st June. First time they were used anywhere though was the Turkey game at the Etihad. There's quite a few new ones. The best being that if the player committing the foul gets booked or sent off the player receiving treatment doesn't have to leave the field if he is able to continue. How many years/decades have we been waiting for that to come in?!

I won't be watching any of Spain's games. They bore me to death. I'll only watch if they play England.
Regarding the Czech vs Croatia game, why on earth weren't the stewards wearing (at least) helmets and eye protection.

They've been far too stringent in the England sections.

They've already had Jamaicans and Canadians in the past.

Lots of the nations have players who were born elsewhere even Germany, it should be place of your birth and that's it.

I recall in the last world cup Germany had quite a few players born elsewhere.

My next door neighbour is German & was born before WW2. The town she was born in became Polish after border changes at the end of the war. She hates being called Polish...& hates Germans ('bloody big-heads'), & speaks with a very strong German accent despite living here for nearly 65yrs - and the world thinks the English are eccentric!

There has to be allowance for someone who moves from, for example, USA to England when they are an infant. Its finding the balance. How many people would you ever ask what nationality they are and they wouldn't know yet they will happily play for another country.

Well what about country of birth or a 10 year residency as the qualification criteria?

Ronaldo is going to cry tonight, I'd be in his ear telling him he is shit and kicking him if I was an Austrian defender

The most English Englishman would never have played for England in that case!

Anyone noticed how Ronaldo is turning into the Portuguese Rooney? Never achieves anything in major tournaments. Expect him to end up as a mid-fielder.

Yeah, but Rooney is turning into the French Giroud, who is turning into the Italian Balotelli, who is turning into the English Sterling, who is turning into the Portuguese Ronaldo.

If they win the group Saturday at 5pm, if they come runners up Monday 27 at 8pm,

( if they come third and through it will either be Saturday at 8pm or Sunday at 5pm)
