Great wins for England and Northern Ireland, would be great to see all home nations qualify for the knockout stages.

I didn't know the Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neil was ex Cov, don't remember him at all

When is the last time that happened? I really cannot remember. Nearly always put in a damp squib of an effort. First game in 66 we started poorly. First game in 96 we started poorly and nearly every word cup or Euro we put in a poor performance and have to rectify it.

Wouldn't it be nice if just for once we could put in 3 good group stage performances.

Win the next one and that's a pretty strong result for the three games

Get in Daniel!

Is it bad that the fans know more than Hodgson?

Between him an Neville its like the chuckle brothers.

Hodgson even has to be told who should take the corners ffs, if it was down to him we'd still have Kane crossing the corners into Sterling and Lallana.

Great second half. You can blame Roy for not picking the right team but how many city games have we seen where its been obvious what change needs making but the manager hasn't done it. At least Roy made the change and made it early enough to have an impact.

Be interesting to see who he starts with for the next game.

In a way we were lucky Bale scored just before half time, if we had gone in at 0-0 there is no way Hodgson would have changed it. At half time Hodgson was as good as sacked so it was his last chance saloon

I missed the Ni and England games due to work, but settled down to watch literally the most dire 45 mins of a game I have seen in a long time in this Germany match

This game is absolutely dire. It has a meaningless friendly vibe to it. Hopefully NI can surprise the Germans in the next game.

It was good to see NI win and I did enjoy the second goal where he should have run into the corner.

I agree that this Poland vs Germany game is absolutely dire, the worst game by a country mile in this tournament.

So far it's been a fantastic tournament, exciting games, little diving and the ones who do dive the refs aren't falling for it. The biggest plus for me is the standard of refereeing , they are allowing tackles to go in,playing advantages and like I said before not falling for the diving cheats like Ronaldo.

Superb stuff and a great distraction from the woes of being a Cov fan atm.

I think 3 points plus goal difference might be enough for one of the best 3rd place places. That goal may turn out to be very important.

To me, it's been a disappointing tournament so far. No team has scored more than 2 goals. Lots of boring, forgettable games. From the teams I've seen, I think Italy will be the team to beat. After that, its Germany and Spain. The British and Irish teams have acquitted themselves well so far, but none of them look convincing to progress very far.

I'm certain that to play for a country you must be a citizen and therefore in this case be French. I don't know what more you're getting at...

Well if both of your parents are born in Africa but you are born in France, you can play for France but you are still as African as anyone can be. And no, you don't have to be a citizen of a country to play for that country. Plenty of players play for a country because they have one grand-parent born there.

Well...not quite....
If both parents AND the player were born in Africa, then they'd be MORE African.

Also, who gives a shit. We had Owen Hargreves who's Canadian.

If you're watching a football match and your main focus is the ethnicity of the players then there is something wrong with you

Have to agree, that German game was awful! Nothing happened in the first half at all!!
Poland missed two guilt edged chances and could have took all 3 points but in a way this has worked for NI as they certainly didn't want to play a German team needing 3 points. Should be a good game albeit if they play like they did against Poland, they may get a battering.

We've also just found this. Surprising new business venture for them.
Especially as the BNP are just across the road

Just spotted there have only been 10 first half goals in 19 games so far. Think i'll start tuning in from half time from now on!

Italian/ Sweden game. Never seen that before, is it a new phenomenon?

Italy trying to kill the game off, take the ball to the corner flag. One player stands with the ball right by the corner flag and then a second player stands right behind him, no more than a inch or two apart, almost like they are in a queue, so that the defender can't get anywhere near the ball, having to try and go through the second player to get to the first player.

Don't like the ball to the corners anyway, but this would make it doubly (no pun intended) frustrating.

First time I have ever witnessed it.

If other teams pick up on that they'll have to bring in a new rule for time wasting. No idea how you'd word it but if they don't stamp that out it will get worse and worse. You'll end up with someone taking the ball to the corner with his teammates around him just standing there for 10 minutes!

Thought they were coming back out for a third half for a minute. Didn't realise I'd accidentally switched to ITV + 1

There is a rule, or used to be, called 'ungentlemanly (maybe now unsportsmanlike) conduct.'

Unless they nip it in the bud you are going to have two, three, or even more lining up and just making it impossible for a defender to get to the ball.

Wouldn't the second player be guilty of obstruction?

Used to hate that in Sunday league, only one thing for it. Go through both of them and calmly get up and walk off without saying a word.

Croatians have kicked off in the ground. Loads of flares on the pitch and fighting amongst themselves.

What is it with fans during this tournament? Is it the French heat getting to people? Croatia 2-1 up, fans throwing on flares, fighting amongst themselves. Why?

And the Czech's have just equalised with an injury time pen. Great decision from Clattenburg.

I see a Brazilian (Eder - born in Brazil) puts Italy through. When are England going to get themselves a few Brazilians?

Poetic justice that goal. Bet those fans wished they had kept their flares another 5 minutes now.
