I am not too worried. Russia have very much contributed to Slovakia looking so good today. The defending for that first goal was a schoolboy error of the highest order. Slovakia have played well, but just look how poor Russia are today.

Russia were shit against us as also and we still couldn't beat them. All well and good saying Slovakia only looked good because Russia were shit, but then the same applies to our game against them which we still couldn't win.

All very familiar to when people said we played really well against Italy at the first match of the world cup when the reality was we were average at best, we had a lot of ball without creating much only because the Italians tactic was to surrender possession and defended deep in number to protect there lead. Italians had been doing it since time began and some on here still fell for it hook, line and sinker.

You are kidding right?

If we draw against Wales and beat Slovakia, or the other way round, we will have 5 points. That WILL see us through for sure. 24 teams and 16 go through to the next round. If 5 points didn't take us though I would eat my hat!

We do not need to win both matches Gazbola, a win and a draw would be fine. Even 2 draws might well see us through. 16 out of 24 to go through and we already have some teams on zero points.

Don't agree with this a win and a draw would be enough

We should be getting through the group with the majority of groups having 3 teams progress. I'd feel a lot better if we put the Russia result to bed by beating Wales and finished the day top of the group

Well, many believe we played well and this is pundits as well and not just England ones, but also the likes of Bilic and Mattaus and others too.

And I never said Slovakia only looked good because Russia were shit, I said they played really badly against Wales, but then well today. My only argument being you can't look at Slovakia today and then say this proves how good Wales were, because there is always the factor of how bad the team played (in this case Slovakia and they were very poor against the Welsh).

Exactly. To say we need to win both is just plain daft.

Was not aware of that. If anything is daft, that is. But we do need to win both matches because those were my forecasts in the Prediction League.

You said Russia contributed very much to Slovakia looking good so I was paraphrasing, and I'm not really bothered what pundits say. Bilic and Mattaus were probably surrounded by englishman and asked loaded questions.

I look at the France team and I ask myself, is this a French team or is it an African team? Because those two teams are quite different. We all know an African team has never won the Euros or the WC.

(Joke by the way)

I'm certain that to play for a country you must be a citizen and therefore in this case be French. I don't know what more you're getting at...

Just home from work for the match.

Bit surprised no chages for us. Reckon Vardy could have caused Wales some damage from the off

I think the question mark is about citizen.

Is it like some of the Irish team who have a grandad who was a 3rd Irish or something.

Englands odds drifted rather quickly an hour or so back. About the time the teamsheet was released. Maybe this will be the one good game in six that Sterling is capable of.

I think as long as he can bring on subs at 60 mins then the same team is okay. If he leaves it late like the Russia game then we have problems

You can play for where you were born or where you parents or grandparents were born. You can also oddly play for a country you have lived in for 2 years, you can even change from one county to another after living there for 5 years if you're under 21 but you can only change once.

Don't think friendlies count either so you could in theory play a couple of friendlies for England and then play for Scotland. Costa did something similar didn't he?

Wasn't there talk of Almunia, the Arsenal keeper who flapped at almost everything playing for English once due to that last rule you mention?

Rooney didn't try to find Sterling there; he tried a shot and missed

The Welsh will be very aware of how easily he can be wound up. Wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he gets himself sent off today.

'Sterling gets in good positions, that's why he's in the team.'

He just missed an open goal for fuck sake.

Can somebody get Kane away from set pieces?

Dier scores a great one, why is Kane anywhere near?
