I know people dont like hearing me say it but I feel that we need a real game changer in for Grimes ala Xhaka at Sunderland.

If Rudi can't get his form back I'd have no qualms buying a whole new midfield 3.

Judging Milan, Rudi, Torp after injury, carrying the after effects of flu, is daft. They will improve when fully recovered. Just hope it's soon (preferably in time for Swansea!)

with 3 key players missing with flu, and BTA out with injury, and with the sending off leaving us with only 10 men, Saints still couldnt manage to beat us! Even with all their Premier league experience and parachute money!

Our squad may be short in numbers, but there is plenty of quality for this league.

If we go up assuming we sign Rushworth we would at the very least need:
LB/CM x2/RW/10.

On top of 2-3 signing in Jan, I’d say we’d need close to 10 signings in we went up.

Sunderland made about 12 new signings this summer.

Allowing for all the money you get in one Prem season, plus the £90 million in parachute payments you get for being relegated immediately, you could spend around £180-200 million in one window on the basis of recouping a chunk of that in sales after an immediate relegation. Allowing for wages as well, that's essentially what Sunderland did.

I hope we learn the lessons of Ipswich’s recruitment to be honest. Creating a championship super team won’t keep you up and we’re seeing that Ipswich are underperforming this season and assuming they go up (I think they will), can’t see them staying up.

That's a big statement to make.

EMC, like the rest of our players, has continued to improve. He is a key part in the way we play. He has set up the most amount of chances in the Championship so far this season. He has now started to add goals to his game and now looks like hitting double figures in goals this season from the wing. To replace him we would have to look higher up than the Championship.

Do you think we will do a Sunderland and spend an absolute fortune? You can look at every position and say we need better but the reality is our best players now will be the backbone of our squad next season.

What our squad has is togetherness and would run through brick walls for us. You can't buy this. Look at the relegated clubs especially Leicester. Spending money guarantees nothing. Most of our players will deserve their chance with some astute signings to give us an extra edge. And we would have to change our mindset from winning most games to wondering where we will get our next win.

Oh yeah the Prem that has Yasin Ayari earning a living at Brighton. Couldn't lace Ephron's boots.

Honestly the disrespect on here for what EMC is doing here & now.

If Wright had scored that chance for the penalty shout, we would all be saying how good that assist was.

Personally I think he will get there soon.

The problem is if you get relegated and sell your players you have to start again. This is where the problems can easily start.

And a bigger problem is if you can't get rid of them you're stuck with them on PL wages.
Puts massive pressure on to go straight back up.

I think we'll spend but I don't think it will be Sunderland levels of spending.

I think King will be pragmatic.

I think Sunderland and Forest have shown what’s needed if you want to stay up. If you’re not willing to go that far then really you may as well do a Luton. It’s been 25 years, fuck knows when we’ll get a chance again.

I still suspect King sells either the club or a fair stake in it to get investment in. This is the payoff. No sense in cutting corners now. He needs an exit and this is the best opportunity he’ll get. If we go back down who knows how long before we’re back?

It's our own supporters that need to be realistic. Many thought we had a bad transfer window before the season started because they didn't consider what we already had. The players know each other well and how each other play. Yes we would need more quality but there won't be a new team coming in. The aim would be 17th place.

Leeds?

If we kept our best players and brought in quality where needed we would be in a good position if we went straight back down. Pur 1st team and reserve players would be better than we have now.

You might as well do a Luton is nonsense tbf. Luton spent fuck all and made no attempt at all to stay up, there's a middle ground we will likely hit. I'd bet we won't spend anything like Sunderland or Forest. Maybe 80 million-ish.

I'll also add again that Sunderland also got an extra £30 million to spend by somehow getting that huge fee for a hype job because he's called Bellingham.
