Even Wednesday fans didn’t think they were the better side but these 3 did. Simon’s football understanding is very basic. You can tell he didn’t play the game to any real level.

I like it normally and this one is better than the sky blue extra one but bloody hell
Talk about entitlement

What are you two crackheads on about?

They said throughout the podcast that on the day, Wednesday probably had the better chances and are a much better side than people give them credit for. We were poor...and we were.

@Sky Blue Pete what exactly were they whining about and entitled about lol

Mental take really

I really like the podcast. Not too long . 50 minutes usually. I find all 3 play different roles and the same 3 guys every week so you can always relate to the previous episode if you like.

I also find their take on the game fair and reasonable. Couldn’t agree more with Dawkins on Haji either so maybe I’m biased towards him.

What the fuck are you on about?

There was absolutely zilch entitlement?
The entitlement was to demand a brilliant performance every week and very little acknowledgment of what we’ve done to get into this position
Also they’d be disappointed with promotion lol

and as shmee has usefully shared we had 4 big chances on Saturday to their 1, 20 shots to their 8

70% of the ball

They were not the better team

Too many players had off days, for sure could we have played betterfor sure

Was the whining over the top - yes

The main mental take is that Haji and simms are not good enough. We are top with 84 goals

as I say I love it and Simon a lot this one did my head in

Not as much as the sky blue extra one that had levels over and above this one of mad takes

His take on haji is he could be a really good player and sometimes he is but too often he’s not

It’s a mental take - every other team in the championship would have him in their squad

that’s exactly in a perfect description.

I do agree other Champ teams would want also.
The frustration is with Haji is he could be so much more.

To expect any different though is madness isn’t it
Why would he be any different after over 100 games
You take the hatrick against boro and the lack of effort to get on the end of the crosses from dasilva against hull
They are what makes haji haji
Not about desire or effort just about being world beater one week and league one standard the next 3

No one expected us to be top 2 this year
That’s the story even when reviewing the Sheff wed game that’s the story

Frank was bang on

Haji is inconsistent, he has absolute strengths and glaring weaknesses. It’s why he’s playing Championship football and not at a higher level.

Getting frustrated with a player that is only playing at your level because of his weaknesses is a bit silly.

Whilst I agree....

I would say the last 2 games in particular, hes been literally a passenger. Whilst ive no issue with being inconsistent, what I do have an issue with is being a complete passenger, can count on 2hands (just) the duals hes been involved with in 2 games.

Thats just not acceptable, even for an inconsistent player, personally ive given up trying to figure him out/get overly frustrated - John makes this point also, HW is missing some basics (like a chunk of coaching over years got missed).

Look at Simms, yes he has his faults, but at least makes basic runs down channels and and least tries to hold the ball up, broadly acceptably - HW doesnt even show.

A really odd player. But in fairness hes scored goals (nearly 50 for the club and credit where its due)

But that aspect of hajis game is part of his make up. I’m sure Frank has tried hard to change it but we are talking about an established player not a young prospect. I doubt he is now capable of changing that aspect of his personality and game.

I suspect Frank will bring in a new striker and choose between Wright and Simms as to which to keep as a bench player.

Absolutely, but I felt the last 2 in particular, especially saturday were beyond his "default", heard FL was getting very animated with him on side line also Saturday through game.

Agree hes beyond changing now.

Agree new striker must, we have to have someone like the lad at Sunderland who's a presence and can hold ball up (almost like Vik was for us) as we will be under so much pressure.

You’re on here replying to two people calling them crackheads and saying Wednesday had the best chances.

They had one very good chance in the second half and another when the guy blasted over from outside the box as well as Rushworth getting away with one.

We didn’t really make the keeper force a save. Yes we had a lot of chances late on and they tend to concede goals late but it was a pretty poor performance

Simms alone had about 3 chances on the edge of the 6 yard box, one that he didn't even anticipate, free header and the overhead onto the post.

It was a poor performance but that performance probably wins the game 80% of the time, just needed one to go in.

FL wasn’t animated at all with Haji on Saturday.

He was much more vocal to the midfielders and defence who he was encouraging to act with more pace and be more direct.

Exactly this.

We could have won 4-1 or 5-2 if both teams had taken their good chances and our fan reaction would have been very different ….

In the game, I think Oggy pointed it out in comms - the quality of the delivery all game was pretty poor. I recall 2 really good balls into the box - one from Torp and one from JDS - later on in the game. Neither of these happened while Wright was on the pitch if I remember correctly. So there's an argument that Wright really didn't have much to feed off of. He's a player who needs service and he really wasn't getting it.

Simms comes on and immediately starts causing problems just by making runs and being in positions that Wright just wasn't targeting. That's the part that is the most frustrating about Wright, because he is a higher quality player than Simms but in so many respects doesn't play like a lone striker needs to. Simms impacts the game much more clearly but of course there's a less than 50% chance his first touch is good and he executes a chance that falls to him. Two golden chances game his way - one where he couldn't sort his feet out and the other where he doesn't react to Esse not connecting with a cross and he can't get a decent header off. Both of those very very good chances where we should be forcing saves.

We never want to play them together presumably because we would lose control of the game and expose the midfield and defence more.

It's such a conundrum because Wright is our top scorer, could have easily been the top scorer in the league this year and has done that while having long stretches of quite poor performances. Just makes you mad because you know how much better he & we could be, if he were able to impact games more often.

There’s a useful quote feature in the English language. You didn’t use either. If you weren’t saying Wednesday had the best chances then fair enough.
