England U21's - no alcohol served in the ground (1 Viewer)

If anyone is going to the game tomorrow there will be no alcohol sold on the concourse due to UEFA regulations.

I had this as well when I went to see England at Wembley in a EURO qualifier, bit of a pain in the arse as I would have liked a beer after work and at the game.

I presume there are no restrictions for the Rugby World Cup.

All very strange in my opinion.

Is this for all Uefa matches or is it just an anti English thing from them?

Maybe Carlsberg or Bud or whichever current sponsor Is flavour of the month Is unavailable.
Draconian attitude worthy of the Amish, Oliver Cromwell or the Pilgrim Fathers.Where were the Mothers?

Went to Euros in Poland to watch Ireland, and all they had on sale in the ground was 1% alcohol Carlsberg. WAs the same for qualifiers at Lansdowne - I didn't bother. All a bit odd really

Jesus Christ, Carlsberg is piss at the best of times. 1% Carlsberg must have been horrendous.

No alcohol is allowed to be served within 500m of the ground before and during UEFA fixtures.

Didn't drink it mate - plenty of other options to get sauced up in the hours leading up the game! I learned that Croatians enjoy a few gargles before a game too!

Seems an odd rule. I can't imagine many people going to an U21 game to get bladdered and cause trouble.

I think it's standard UEFA regulations, was like then when I went to Wembley in March for a EURO qualifier. When I asked the Ricoh they stated the Casino was open so I presumed alcohol was served there.

Traffic was awful last night around the Ricoh and I was there 20 minutes late and lots of people were still coming in at that time.

Attendance of just over 15,000 not bad, would have been good if City could have had a presence there to see what they can do to entice more people to home games.
