This may be a tournament too far for England , not a world class striker around when Kane retires.

Yet in the 90s we had an abundance! Funny how football works over time

All academies play with one striker now. We have quite literally reduced the number of strikers coming through by half to create too many of these forward/wingers/10s that are ‘comfortable on ball’ which translates to ‘too scared to fucking lose the ball’

Yeah I get that because of the way football has been played

This season for the first in a long time we have seen more set pieces, balls in the box, long throws which needs proper old fashioned number 9s to get on the end of them!

Will be some time before we see Kane's replacement at a similar level

Thought it was going to be Liam Delap until this flop of a season he’s had.

I do wonder if we have a bad tournament and Tuchel leaves could Lampard get approached before we start next year?

If he goes and Howe leaves Newcastle like i’d expect i’d like us to go for him. Plays a formation and system similar to ours

It's baffling why we gave Tuchel a new contact

He has one objective, win the World Cup!

Now he's got another couple of years, I hate to think it but wonder if his motivation has dropped a bit

Fair play to Japan, they looked a decent side and deserved the win. Can see them doing relatively well at the World Cup.

England meanwhile, looked like about what you'd expect for a late in the season friendly with not much on the line and key players missing. Didn't create enough, wasted what we did create. Passing was garbage, defending wasn't great. No real goal threat at all.

Let's be honest - 50% of anyone who wore a white shirt (on the pitch) this evening won't be anywhere near that plane leaving for North America in a couple of months time.
Morgan Rogers and Jarrod Bowen as celebrity baggage handlers maybe but that's as close as they will get.

Morgan Rogers will 100% go and it wouldn’t surprise me if he started

Both games were dire and have caused more issues than they were meant to solve, some of the fringe players have done absolutely nothing to stake a claim to be part of the travelling squad

Find the ostracization of game changes such as Bellingham and Trent absolutely baffling, he quite clearly fancies Reece James as his first choice which is fair enough but I am not having that you would take Ben White and Djed Spence over TAA

As long as Harry Kane stays fit and in form, England will have a chance of giving anyone a game this summer but the over reliance on him is alarming as is no obvious replacement coming through with HKs twilight years fast approaching - Should Kane god forbid pick up an injury in the back end of the season for Bayern then we genuinely needn't bother showing up

All about opinions I guess. I've always liked it and think all the home nations should sing it, but the others all boo it now. I guess it depends about views on the monarchy too, I'm firmly in the camp that wants to keep them, but aware that's unpopular on this board.
I don’t really have any feelings on the monarchy or the words, it’s just a dull anthem that isn’t remotely uplifting at all.

I like that the cricket team sings Jerusalem instead, it’s more aesthetically pleasing for me anyway but it’s also about England rather than a person.

Pretty sure NI still play GSTK?

It's the fans rather than the team though. I like Jerusalem too, but still wouldn't change GSTK.

NI do still sing it - roundly booed by the Welsh last night.

Very hard to gauge anything from 2 meaningless friendlies with multiple players missing or unavailable
