Pretty disgraceful to cancel the awards do but I can’t say I didn’t see this coming a mile off. It has been fairly obvious for a while so why didn’t they cancel it a while back.

This is falling into line with how the club are acting now. It seems they are determined to put the Robins era to bed and for FL to stamp his authority all over the club. Its his squad and he is focused only on building the best one he can. No distractions or no looking back.

Either that or issues with talks about the stadium, i hope its the 1st opinion.

Was daft idea to hold it in pre season anyway but why was it not held at the end of the regular season? Seems like they couldn't be bothered with it and wanted to get on their holidays as soon as possible

Yeah it was a foregone conclusion anyway.

Players probably wanted a break from club duty after the Sunderland game as well

Did we used to have end of season awards nights? I don't remember them in the pre-Robins days. Or if we did it was more a thing for sponsors.

Wonder if they just asked the players and they said they can't be fucked. They can have their own awards night in Portugal if they want.

been going on for years way before robins

first one I attended was 2008 at the Ricoh

poor from the club but not surprised

club now don’t care about fans. The bond the club grew with the players and fans is slowing disappearing and we are ending up like the big clubs who hold the fans in so little account

I can see these becoming a thing of the past for many clubs to be honest …..

You can’t do them whilst you still have something to play for and the minute your season is over players and staff want to get on holiday …..

Which you could buy for £1000 a table?

Assume Lampard and King both not really bothered . Tickets usually went on sale well in advance anyway. The timings at the end of the season probably just put the tin hat on it. Amazed anyone is truly upset.

The clubs relationship with the fans has never been better, and its why we have broken season ticket sales records.

Again with these disgusting false accusations again.

because the team are doing well

if we didn’t make the playoffs we wouldn’t have sold 24k season tickets

Hope it doesn’t happen but if we finish mid table we won’t have 24k season tickets next season

fans make the club. if you ever been on a pre season with the city or an awards dinner you’ll know the connection with fans and players was great

if we lose that it will be a shame

short memories a lot of people on here

it’s more transparency. if the club had no intention they should have said. again it’s the fans being lied to

similar to the Portugal week

I was told back in may it was booked. they didn’t mention anything. poor form imo

I thought his fist was gonna connect with me, everyone was drunk and this was after the official do
Yeah, I bet. Well, it’s a good story. I’m not sure I’d have wanted an angry Aaron Gunnarson trying to prove he was POTS by punching me in the toilets of the Colly.

If it makes you feel any better my mate knocked Cobi Jones flat on his back on the dance floor of Mr Gs by drunkenly stumbling into him.
