Because we are 5 games into a season, it looks like he will be here for the season. He has played 2 games, scored a goal that won one.Of course I'm not a relative or Simms..yet all people do is slag him off. It is bollocks. Always the same ones, as well.Like I say,we wouldn't have made the playoffs, without him.

I think you need to get a new Hobby being on the internet is bad for your mental health.

You are wrong

Below was my take. Feel free to likethefuck out of it.. I could do with improving my post-to-like ratio for @Ccfcisparks m8

I genuinely think some of the criticism is fair, but it’s not always balanced.

He’s demonstrated that he can score goals (albeit in one half of a season), he’s strong and can be a handful for defenders.

He does need to work on his first touch but more importantly for me, he needs to figure out the mental side of his game. It’s commonplace for form to fluctuate and even hit long term lows because of confidence, but Ellis appears to have a more chronic issue with confidence that’s definitely holding him back. He’s rightly not going to make the first team unless this changes.

To say he’s shit is a lazy football ‘fan’ mantra. Individuals that actually manage to become professional footballers, let alone play in the Premiership and Championship, aren’t shit. It’s down to poor form, which can include long patches of poor form.

If he leaves in this window, he may thrive in a different environment, however, if he stays, as supporters of our great football club, we need to get behind him and want him to succeed. He’s a more than capable back up striker.

Exactly what happens, bend to their view or get slated.
are you new to football supporting? Every single fan has a erratic view on players... you only have to look at how O'Hare went from hero to not that good when he left.

Wouldn't take it so personal. We've seem Simms 103 times hes scored 27. 8 in his last 50. He's got all the attributes to be a good player. He doesn't fit into what we do. so the current view is that he isn't very good.

If he scores 10 in the next 12 he'll be a world beater.... This is football supporters in a nutshell - not bullying or whatever you're crusading against.

Better solution or go back to filing reports for your boss.
Any solution is better, because yours doesn't exist in the real world.

Why would the current Portuguese champions, and one of the great historic names in world football, take our misfiring striker and 'give him a run out' like they're some sort of recuperation suite for footballers?

You might as well propose that we splice his DNA with that of Lionel Messi to try to help improve his first touch.

Brilliant post , this forum has turned into a sewer, it was Wright after the playoffs, now Simms. Grendel leading the charge, followed by Saddlebrains.

Yes, Saddlebrains. The forum member who wanted one of our players to do his ACL.

Nope, not new. Anything but, been going up the City, very young late 60s/ early 70s. I am surprised by the vitriol, after 2 games, this season One goal, which won a game. Thought people might give him a chance, for a bit, at least. But, hey no. Also the abuse you get, if you have a different view.

I am convinced some of his family members are on here. Never seen a player be defended so ferociously by a small number of people.
FFS just one person is defending him like crazy, and one more has chipped in with a strange suggestion for farming him out to a top European side.

Others (including me) have tried to post balanced thoughts, nothing ferocious about it! Can't say the same for all the "dogshit" remarks etc. being thrown out by a few about one of our players.

Why are you surprised? It’s football supporting every fan has a different view to the next. It’s gonna cause another person to thing “what the fuck is that guy watching”

Like I said I wouldn’t take it personally - everyone has a different view…. I’m currently on the view that Rushworth is crap…. 90% on here disagree and have let me know… it’s down the pub football conversations with the lads - like I said everyone on here has an opinion that makes everyone scratch their head.

just brush it off

suspect Simms will end up in League 1 and be quite happy there
No, he's a decent Championship striker in a system that plays to his strengths.

Don't think that's going to be us, though, so it would probably be better for all parties if we could find a taker.

While I’ve contributed to this debate with a reasonably balanced opinion, I’ve since decided that there’s been some top reverse trolling by @Skyblueabo1111 here, and we’ve all been ‘kin murked..
Now it makes sense 🤣

He certainly had us all fooled the little tinker.

Raphael? Surely he's not in the firing line now? Definitely shown promise, but we will see if and when he gets more time on the pitch.
I am confident he will.

In the spirit of “we are all Cov fans”:

I’ve been very impressed with how Gyok got a new agent who then furthered his career. Gyok could have signed for a mid / low prem team; maybe be bench-warmed.

Gyok’s agent got him to a team where he could bang goals against normally L2 defenders and then be on the pitch against Man City.

Now. There are people in this world who are smart cookies. Gyok agent= Smart cookie.

Ring him up. “Ellis Simms - best loan? Portugal? France? Scotland?”

And btw, sassy types - it doesn’t work 😎
