I literally begged for elliot to be sent on for half the game and when he did finally come on he played a massive part in both goals starting both attacks. As robins said he is one of the hardest done by people in the squad. I really want to see him start a game.

It was a quality touch from elliot to lay off moussa whose cross wan't the best, but purely Clarke's presence caused them problems. He has good pace for league 1 and showed he can finish against MK Dons, but sadly I don't see him starting ahead of Clarke, hopefully he doesn't start to look for more regular football elsewhere.

agreed 100%

Him and Thomas changed the game. Moussa did well too. Well done MR and the 3 subs :claping hands:

Is he hard-done by? I suppose so, McG was always going to start v Shrews. V Spurs, neither striker would've done well IMO. V PNE, he looked ok, we didn't see much of him, but looked sharp nonetheless, he wasn't that important in either of the stoppage time goals, Clarke's good assist allowed Baker to score a, slightly, phlukey goal, then the second, Baker's shot that was parried away by their GK led to Clarke burying the winner. I think if Clarke fails to score v Carlisle, he should start v Tranmere because I don't see the need to change to 4-4-2 when the current system, quite clearly doesn't need changing.

All the subs, in particular, Thomas played well.

All three subs were great! Same thing at Spurs as well. He does make good substitutions.

He was unlucky to miss out after scoring a brace. However he'd only scored 1 in 12 before the MK Dons game.

He had 2 Ames under Thorn, and about 2-3 under Shaw, so about 8 for MR...

he played in all of thorns games i just checked so 4 then plaayed another 5 under shaw so he has made 1 start and two sub apps under robins like i said

then another 5 under shaw who wasn't a manger. then the rest have been sub apps under robins

He has 3 in 16 in all competitions roughly 1 in 4, which mirrors his entire career

Man City 0 in 2
Sunderland 23 in 88 games (1 in 4)
Wolves 5 in 32 (1 in 6)
Preston 8 in 42 (1 in 4)
Norwich 2 in 10 (1 in 5)
Hearts 11 in 65 (1 in 6)
Coventry 3 in 16 (1 in 4)

Career 52 in 265 (1 in 5) and 12 assists

I'm not trying to say he's a poor player but his career says he isn't a prolific goalscorer. I like him, he looks like he's got a decent technique and works hard but some on here talk about him as if he's the league one version of Messi. Yes he as hard done by being dropped for Goldie.

Apologise, I didn't take sub appearances into account.

Shaw didn't have 5 league games though...

But don't let this get in the way of the fact that he doesn't have a good goals:game ratio, he scored 2 v MKD, so what? He is still behind L.Clarke, who lets not forget, scored his goals for the struggling Scunny, that counts for something. I don't have any problems with him coming off the bench or starting if Clarke doesn't score, but ATM, L.Clarke is our best striker statistically so should start.

well...if he hadn't had scored 2 goals we would have lost the game. That's what

again a lot of those will be sub appearances. and yes i'm not saying he is amazing but he should get a start he has played well recently.

I didn't mean it in that context, I meant it in saying, he scored 2 in 1 game, 66% of his goals in 1 game, whereas we have a player who has scored more, for a shitter team, who has a similar goals:game ratio to our once beloved, McGOALdrick. About 0.033 in it. On that logic, Clarke should do well for a superior team. As I said, if he doesn't score, let Elliott come in and show us what he's got.

You could argue, why not both of them, but that mean changing tactics to suit the new system, but we don't need, nor should, change a successful system.

Hopefully we can get 1 more striker in because if 1 gets injured... We have ROD! scary thought...

Subs who can change games, how long is it since we have had that?!

So does that mean he gets the starting line up wrong?

I don't agree with that but I'm just throwing it out there if he makes game changing substitutions then the games needed changing from plan 1.
