The Tranmere proposal has zero chance of success.
I was told yesterday that the EFL will almost certainly retain the integrity of the league with traditional promotion, relegation, 4 team play offs and standard PPG.
Before anybody asks my source it is very senior people in RUFC and DRFC who have been party to all the League 1 discussions to date.
All the delays are due to teams being given every opportunity to put forward alternatives to avoid future legals.

That's my understanding too

Tranmere are being laughable, they are basically just inventing methods to stop them being relegated.

They will be adding up the number of letters in club names to the year they were formed or something equally as random soon.

EFL meeting today to discuss proposals put forward by clubs and what is going to be voted on.

Hopefully we get a statement today saying the options

Reverse alphabetical order sees them finishing 3rd in the table.

I see that F1 are considering a reverse grid proposal so the slowest cars start at the front, so they don't get the same results where consequtive races are to be held in the same country. Maybe this will give Tranmere the idea of just reversing the table, so Bolton and Southend would be promoted and Tranmere, Wimbledon, Rochdale, and MK Dons would be in the playoffs.
(Footnote to EFL. This is a joke, please do not include it as a suggestion)

I hope they do bring that in in F1. Been suggesting it for years. Not sure they would because they'd lose income from the qualifying.

sounds like a school ports day where everyone gets a medal.
F1 dumbing itself down to make it more competitive. Supposed to be the elite of motorsport yet intent on dragging leading teams back to a lower level rather than making lower teams improve.

technically puts them 2nd with automatic promotion so they're bound to love it.

The problem with her margin of error is they seem to have picked three years as that's how you end up with Tranmere being safe. Only checked a couple of seasons prior to that but that saw the teams in the relegation places at the point at which this season has stopped relegated.

They claimed they had modelled the data multiple times using different years but have failed to provide that data or answer the question of why 3 years.

Sounds to me like the EFL working through the regulations to remove the chances of any legal action against them being successful. They can say it was discussed and still not put it to a vote and be within their regulations.

If the clubs did decide to include it as a resolution and put it to the vote doesn't that mean more delays? Think the rules say the clubs have to be given a couple of weeks notice.

Just for a laugh I'd love the EFL to say we'll do the idea but we don't think 3 years is correct, so we'll do it for 5 or whatever which again sees Tranmere go down. Love to see them tying themselves in knots as to why that shouldn't be done

I don't get it, as much as I sympathise with Tranmere fans, they are where they are...
They are getting relegated this season is due to the fact that they didn't do enough in the games they played irrespective of the theory of how they would go on and win x number of games and be better than the teams actually above them in the table.
Form from previous seasons has no bearing whatsoever on the form in the current season.
If anything they should've pressed for a relegation playoff with Wimbledon, they would have got more sympathy, but again that would be unfair on Wimbledon who already have their points on the board
PPG is the only way to go now, it's too late for anything else...

I always thought that the drivers should draw their cars out of the hat just before each race, that would make it interesting and a set of balls in a bag and just before each race the ball is drawn and not returned into the bag. one ball should be lets say the balck ball and that race is double points

I am warming to Dale. Bringing a cool business head to matters. Something so complex as TR's plan would be big pay days for the lawyers. But it sounds like they have been taking some soundings and have some support.

Palios knows he is basically stuffed and he knows it but he’s coming up with a strategy which he hopes will get the EFL to not relegate them just Bolton and Southend but that still leaves the division with an odd number unless they promote just three or five from league two, just gets too messy then. I notice McAnthony is quiet now perhaps monitoring the Tranmere situation another reason I think the EFL won’t bend.

TalkSPORT saying that the vote has been put back again as EFL we’re supposed to send ballot papers out yesterday but didn’t. Apparently the rules state clubs need five days from receipt of the papers to review them before a vote can take place.

think they're giving all themselves the space to argue they gave everyone every chance to have a say and it's not their fault time ran out.
Tranmere , for example, claim they've put their final proposal together and sent to EFL on June 1st. They've had 10 weeks to think about it. Nobody but themselves to blame there if time runs out.

I definitely think there is an element of it, but I'm just surprised they're not doing a better job of trying to be subtle about it.

It's like a team taking the ball to the corner flag to waste time on 90 minutes, except they started doing it at half time.

Slowly but surely we are approaching the 6th of June the date given weeks ago for football to re-start, still think it will go ppg but in fairness to the EFL as frustrating as it is they are still on course.

Yep, they're having enough issues trying to get Championship games on, last thing they need is another division to sort out. Plus when you move down to L1 theres more financial implications to deal with.

The competition rules seem to put the responsibility for completing fixtures on the clubs rather than the league and not completing them by the final day of the season is technically a misconduct charge, although there is an exemption from that charge for unforeseeable events.

What if the EFL turn round and say the season has to finish before there is time to play the games?

100% correct BSB
That is what i was told yesterday
As Nick suggests in earlier post everybody is laughing behind Tranmere`s back about their self interest proposal plus there is no appetite to return this season other than play offs plus Tranmere and Peterborough and one other ( I think Sunderland but not sure) who cannot afford to return but trying to get money out of EFL in compensation. Hence their stance.
