The Prem being last to commit isn't helping ,only increasing the scope to divide and rule picking off one league at a time .
Saving their own skins

I fear he's going to end up doing their work for them creating discord between each leagues solution.

Isn't there some scheme to extend contracts for one month?
I wish there wasn't though cos all this pontificating and shite would be over now
Players whose contacts aren't renewed get paid one month as a sort of notice period but they aren't contracted to play. You'd have to negotiate with every player whose contract or loan was expiring. Would they all agree? Sure all of ours would as they want the promotion but some players on teams with nothing to play for who already have new clubs lined up, not so sure.

The games wouldn't be in any contract as they wouldn't have been allowed to show them. L1 will be a non issue. If football does get played it will be behind closed doors so Sky, BT, Amazon and anyone else prepared to cover the cost of showing games will get as many as they like to ensure every game is being broadcast. With the Prem alone, let alone the Championship, that will give enough games for pretty much wall to wall coverage. Top 2 divisions playing twice a week is enough matches for 6 live games a day!

True there wouldn't be much logic in refusing for the contract terms to be changed - which they would have be as under the current terms the EFL are only entitled to stream scheduled midweek matches and rearranged games.

Sky aren't exactly likely to get the amount of watchers for a L1 game than a PL fixture, or even a Championship game for that matter.

You would have thought players out of contract would be wary about extending. possibility about getting injured and harming their chances of finding a new club.

I really do not understand what you are talking about

Even industries and businesses deemed a success have very low ROI measures and profit margin to turnover is often very flimsy. It only takes a small fluctuation in revenue to impact many firms - companies will never be prepared for this even in normal fields let alone football.

Customer revenue at lower levels is through fans in the ground. Without that it no business will survive. Pubs and other establishments that are highly successful in normal times would be destroyed by any attempt at social distancing. You want football to open with no customers. It is insane.

Interesting also you seem not to interested in the safety of the players when it comes to transmission risks. Which is very much at odds with the stance on your own profession.

Exactly as I predicted. DM and BF's have expressed their grievances with Rotherham achieving promotion under PPG and I'm sure this has now caused other clubs to also disagree with this potential outcome.

Getting really pissed off with this now.
This would have been done and dusted if DM hadn't have gone full out with his PR and dragging a few with him.
Read months ago that he said he had NO 1st team players out of contract at the end of this season too.
Resuming would be an absolute lottery with all that has gone on. Anybody that supports us and wants that needs their head looking at.
Our 7pt lead could be virtually gone in 2/3 games and we have to fit in one more than most.
Now Lincoln and Gillingham getting involved too!!!!
Absolutely fuming to be honest!!!!!

What??
I would have no problem in completing the games, but going into a playoff group would be totally unfair. To be honest if we failed to get promotion from our position if we resumed, then we wouldn't deserve to go up. Don't forget if we do get promoted, next season will be a lot harder than completing this one.

So you would rather play on in a one off 10 game season with no form/momentum, training and possibly missing players than finish now and be promoted!??????!????!???

How do they end up with 3 teams promoted from these various expanded play-off scheme? (without at least 1 team going up automatically)

If we're not promoted assuming the season does resume then if anything that proves DM right. We shouldn't be looking at the PPG decision as a free pass as we've rightly earned to be where we are in the league but if the season resumes and we slip up then it's clearly not meant to be.

The issue you should be having with DM is that he's depriving anyone of an actual decision and that he's insisting all clubs play when many simply cannot afford to. All due to is own selfishness.

Tranmere may not be a vote - depending on what the decision is regarding relegation. Heavy emphasis on the 'may' though.

It's in our interests to be, but clearly Dave Boddy has employed a different tactic to DM. That's certainly not a bad thing by any means.

I'm sure the setting up of the schedule can be dragged out for a few weeks.

What would happen if there is a second surge. I would want to play the weakest teams first. How can you possible setup a schedule which is fair?

If this is a problem then why isn't it a problem for the games already played?

I would assume they will play the games in the same order as it would have been had the season not been stopped

I would assume any player who’s contract has expired and has secured another club won’t play or want to play, I wouldn’t risk an injury that could put a move in jeopardy.

That could be argued for a few weeks..

It puts the teams who have to play other teams further up the league at a disadvantage to teams who need to play others at the lower end of the table if the league needs to stopped again.

You can't have it both ways.

Yes I would happliy take PPG but I'm confident we would do it the right way if it came to it, and silence all those other team supporters who would forever bring it up.
7 points advantage with a game in hand, 2 over Sunderland. 3 defeats all season. Playing on wouldn't worry me at all.

No worries. Get L1 to kick off at 8pm on a weekday. No conflicts - unless the wife wants to watch Eastenders.

Exactly. Also issues with loan players. What if Villa decide they don't want to risk O'Hare and / or Norwich don't want to risk McCallum for example. Gets very complicated very quickly.

The same argument that they are having at the moment over current league placings can be had on the other side about the scheduling.

I can see this taking weeks for an agreement for the league to be restarted.

The EFL won’t take any notice of that, if teams could re-arrange their own fixtures can’t imagine Oxford, Peterborough or Wycombe breaking their necks to play us.
It will be as I said the same order is it would have been.
