Doug King deserves a lot of credit. Firstly for wrestling the club out of SISU’s hands who were starting to look like they’d never take the hint and finally fuck off.

Secondly for taking the tough decision and sacking Robins. I still love Robins and consider him a club legend but the fact is he’d took us as far as he could and had run out of ideas.

Thirdly for bringing Lampard to the club, I’ll admit it again, I was underwhelmed by the appointment at the time but he played a blinder bringing him here.

Fourthly. Uniting the club and ground, something I always thought would take a promotion to the premier league windfall to make happen but he’s shown otherwise.

Lastly, promotion to the premier league with games to spare.

He’s achieved a lot for an owner in a short period of time and he deserves all the plaudits for that.

I don’t know what next season will bring other than it’s going to be tough but he’s been pivotal in putting us in the privileged position where we’re going to find out.

Lampard mentioned that in his past match is conference. He said "I was waiting for someone to do a more uncomfortable fist pump than me and Doug's duly obliged." 🤣

Doug is a winner in life and he doesn’t want to settle for average. We’ve been planning for this.
they said last season that Austin has a Championship shortlist and a Premier League shortlist. The good news is we can work on the premier leage shortlist from now.

I can only imagine the frustration at starting your planning at the end of may following the play offs.

I’m pretty sure in the interview with Sky after the Blackburn game he said we’ve been planning for the PL in Dec/Jan as soon as it seemed real we would do it this year.

As a new club to the league we need to move swiftly as soon as the window opens to bed players in.

Also we’ve got to spend up to £10m on stadium upgrades for the PL.

Frank has also said the training ground needs more upgrades as well.

Exciting times.

Doug King has been nothing short of exceptional if we're honest.

Major investment into the club on levels we're quite frankly not thinking about as fans (ops, training facilities etc), committed investment into the squad (for today and tomorrow), rolled back poor decisions whilst also standing by decisions he thinks are important for the club (especially around making money and developing our commercial offering), being visible and vocal as an owner, I could go on and on.

I think without external investment he will naturally need to step aside for new owners to step in at some point, but I really hope thats not the case. Think with him at the helm 10 years from now we could really compete in the Prem a la Brighton and Brentford.

Lampard said he knew we would get promoted after winning at Swansea - they would have had two lists from probably the new year onwards but I imagine in the last month they have (should have ) gone into overdrive on the Premier League list.

Looks like he was hindered by a lack of movement, IE;he needs a pre season to get into shape, get ready for the Ski slopes and those Milk chocolate ads, somebody seriously needs to suggest a silly promotion campaign for Mother's day if we haven't already had?

All great achievements in their own right, but getting you on a football thread surpasses any of them. Truly speechless.

Now then, I'll ask one final time, Reform or Greens ;) :D
