King deserves a lot of credit imo. Made a huge decision (probably his biggest in charge of us), took a lot of shit on it, went with his gut when others at the club didn’t want Lampard and backed him in January to get us what he believed we could achieve.
Personally think the bloke is a bit like marmite in that you either love or hate him but hope he’s got some credit in the bank next time he makes a big decision
Losing 4 in 6 at home against sides who all went on to finish mid table or lower was pretty alarming. Since then he’s turned the stadium into something of a fortress by drilling the team into a way of playing that works well at home, less so away.Said at the time home form did for Robins. Football is also a business and people were starting to get miserable with what was being served up, crowds would have fallen. Crowd is once again engaged and I would think attendances will trend upwards again next season.
I made a point once and w agreed at the time that robins was too cautious at times and it cost us points , I also made the same point the other week as to why lampard doesnt draw as many games as robins did .
Yes I remember that, possibly some comparisons to Southgate’s England in there too? We have now mastered one system of playing, which we needed to do for the team to start getting results.I made a point once and w agreed at the time that robins was too cautious at times and it cost us points , I also made the same point the other week as to why lampard doesnt draw as many games as robins did .

The trend carried on away
Long story short , robins could be too cautious
He could for sure .I made a point once and w agreed at the time that robins was too cautious at times and it cost us points , I also made the same point the other week as to why lampard doesnt draw as many games as robins did .

He didn’t have time to get the players to understand another one and so against certain opposition we don’t know what to do. Over the summer I’d expect the work to go in on being equally adept at two set ups
One of the best parts of being a football nerd is having these sorts of debates. The crazy thing is, with better away form we may even have caught up with Sunderland, just 7 points off them in the end.I don't agree with this, we had our best spell playing another system!
I think it should have been utilised more away from home.
However, in the grand scheme of things, we weren't getting higher than 5th so really Lampard has got us as high as was feasibly possible.
A perspective that was right when it was said but is no longer correct in modern football with money and use of data so crucial to the successful running of any club.I don't love him or hate him.
And I'll never love a club owner no matter who they are.
I judge him by each action and I think he's done more right than wrong but he has done things I vehemently disagree with.
But his biggest decision, getting rid of Robins, has been vindicated.
Though I still agree with what BillShankly said:
“At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the checks.”

Backed Robins and backed Lampard with Grmes in Jan when he could’ve just said ‘no point, nothing to play for, wait until summer’ (a masterstroke of a signing). Made a few errors but usually holds his hands up. Running the club in a far more professional manner than the last shower. Couldn’t have asked for much more from a non billionaire owner
Defo knew it was happening and just let the in laws move there anyway.I would love to know the story behind the Grimes transfer given his in laws moved to Swansea the day before!
must have all happened incredibly quickly.
Cuck behaviour according to @clint van dammeBacked Robins and backed Lampard with Grmes in Jan when he could’ve just said ‘no point, nothing to play for, wait until summer’ (a masterstroke of a signing). Fuck sake. He talks so well. He’s like a shit Bond villain.
Brilliant interview
Freudian slip?'The arena we still don't own'
Interesting comment
I remember listening to the fans forum DK organised after the Robins sacking. I thought he came over candid and articulate but the abuse from some guy called Moz ? was a disgrace. I wonder what this guy thinks now.
Was imvolved yep"Some guy called Moz"
Is that the same guy that used to run the Sky Blues Trust?
win win situation for the ladDefo knew it was happening and just let the in laws move there anyway.
Shit hairFair play to him, put himself on the line with robins and got it bang on, wer’e in good hands, there’s nothing negative you can say about him
Worth about £4mn at least isn’t it making the finalKing can't stop winning can he. He's got basically all the big decisions right and looking at the position we are in now compared to when he came in is night and day. I know after the 22/23 PO final loss I felt like we might have wasted our chance with that group of players, but we're back in the playoffs again and this time with far more stability squad wise and the club as a whole is revamped.
Yeh its worth doing for the club even if the fans get their hearts ripped out again.Worth about £4mn at least isn’t it making the final
