I do, and as you can gather I’m pretty unimpressed by the way the boxholders are whining and trying to railroad the club into getting what they want as opposed to the club putting it right. It’s possible to be critical of more than one thing at once, it’s not binary.

But the majority of box holders aren't railroading the club. Many simply can't afford it and due to the club's poor handling of the situation have been left with few suitable alternatives with regards to seating arrangements.

Regardless of what they were paying for boxes their anger is entirely justified. Many, including myself, have supported throughout our entire journey from L2 through to present day and they've been cast aside completely without a second thought or even the decency of prior notice.

Many clubs offer discounts for renewing for the following season and the club hasn't even offered that.

so if they did that, making all suppliers equally priced, you’d move away from the incumbent supplier to a new one even if you had a good relationship with them?

Wouldn't be that great a relationship if they trebled the prices at short notice!

They absolutely would - if I said to one of our customers we’ve hiked a price up 300% as they’ve been getting it cheap I’d be told where to go

But we have people saying “it’s completely irrelevant what other clubs are doing”, yet now you’re complaining that we don’t do what other clubs do. Hypocritical again- it’s ok to mirror what other clubs do if it’s in your favour, not so good if it’s not.

People comparing their own line of work to this is absolutely ridiculous, this isn't a common commodity.

i dunno, it’s very risky and time consuming- and can be costly- to switch a supplier.
But anyway that has nothing to do with boxes or even football at all

This is such a unique 'product' to sell that all they really have to go off is current market rates and historic demand. I actually do agree, despite my anecdotal contributions to the thread, that these prices, as well as the significant hike, is perhaps short sighted from the club. But I see both sides of the argument.

I've never said it's irrelevant, I said just randomly setting prices to what other clubs in the league are charging is a poor strategy as there's a lot of other facets to consider when pricing hospitality packages.

It's an incredibly individual commodity and should be treated accordingly. Not to say prices of competitors should be brushed aside completely, but they should be met with caution and assessed in terms of relevance and feasibility - especially in the context of the region in which the club finds itself in and the quality of businesses within said area.

reliably informed a grand total of 5 boxes sold. Almost a week since prices announced and all parties on the waiting list been emailed.

Okay so if the club sells 13 boxes that would bring in a similar amount revenue to selling 35 at £9K each.

not really as drinks are extra cost and it will on economy of scale be better to cater for more

Wouldn't a large majority of those 30 box holders buy some form of season ticket?

In what way is having 22 spare boxes you can sell zero gain?

So 14 boxes at the old price. Not a bad start tbh in a week. Only need to sell 8 more to make the same money as last year.

Zero gain, behave. Even if the club sell 25 boxes that will be an additional revenue of £300,000.

Of course, as Grendel states there are additional things to consider, but purely on the basis of the boxes and the revenue from purchase of the boxes it would eclipse last year.

Long way to go of course, nothing to state that all or anymore boxes would be sold, but then some people have stated boxes wouldn't be sold at all....

I mean given they've only sold five I very much doubt they'll reach that figure.

Also, no one stated the club wouldn't sell any boxes.

Sell another 8 and they matched last years revenue already. 35 boxes @ 9000 = £315000, 13 boxes @ 25000 = £325000. Are you seriously suggesting we wont sell another 8 boxes at least? Behave

They could sell another 5 or 15, let's wait and see.

As I said, long way to go.

Sell another 160% of sales to date and they'll match last year

Does it matter? They could sell them for £1 and be up from last year.

Just like the ST prices it’s very simple maths: if we get more revenue this year from the same number of people Doug is right. Otherwise he’s not.

Wouldn’t that depend on the deal we get from Fraser’s re: food and beverage? It may be different to the one we got with wasps

Okay, but this is also your post earlier?

KenilworthSkyBlue said:
It's really not incorrect to assume that at all. The majority on the waiting list will likely follow suit and not bother because the premise upon which they joined said list was that the boxes would be roughly in or around the previous price.

Granted you did say likely, which is not a definitive term, however you've already suggested earlier in the thread we wouldn't sell any boxes from renewals or from the waiting list. The same has been suggested on Twitter.

There is still plenty of time for the Club to sell more boxes.

As far as revenues concerned he might be right, but as far as I'm concerned he should have made the increases incrementally and not pissed off people who have been loyal to the club over a number of years, (none of whom, on this thread, have disagreed that prices shouldn't go up).

I'd reword that to if we get more revenue this year from the same number of people then it can only benefit the club, we are led to believe, but ultimately you are right.
