Was talking to a lad today who is a big Swansea fan about Donnelly.

He really rates the lad highly, and reckons that the main problem was that he just couldn't get on with Laudrup. Seems like a lot of fans and players were pushing for Donnelly to step in when Bone got injured lately, but Laudrup just didn't want to know and ignored him.
Next thing, he was being farmed out to City but as soon as he got wind that Laudrup was on his way he couldn't wait to get back to Swansea.

Maybe he thinks he's got a chance with the new set up, and hopes that SP will release him from the loan contract.

It could very well be the reason, but I think it's more to do with tough training he experienced with us on his one day with us, after all part of the reason laudrup was sacked was players complaining training was too light.

Maybe abit of both

It's a lot more likely to be this than the training theory I reckon.

Either excuse is a poor one IMO. He should have shown commitment to the contract he signed.

Then again, this is football. How many contracts are honoured now a days?

Don't know but you could always ask Sisu.

He s been released from our loan contract.

Sounds like he's still registered to us though so can't play for Swansea or their reserves.

Thought you could play others teams players in your reserves team? Just like you can when their on trial?

Could the parent club play their own play as as 'trialist' because he's contracted to someone else, but from them? Yep, could get messy but doubt it's impossible

What a complete waster. Would rather sit sucking his thumb in Swansea playing no football, than put himself in the window for an opportunity with the Swansea first team or for a move, playing with us.

With that attitude his career will be like Kevin Thorntons....one of many regrets.

He's end up playing for Afan Lido or someone like that in the Welsh Premier in front of 75 people. It annoys me when people with talent piss it up the wall. Any of us on here would give anything for the opportunity.

What he should have done us sorted his private matter out then showed us some commitment by playing til the end of the season and then gone back to Swansea to discuss his future.
At the moment he is stuffed

At least none of us are making knee jerk reactions and assumptions based on complete hear say and Internet gossip.

Somewhere between the waitress and her table.
Probably his parents won the lottery and he had to go back to help them spend it. What a waster; even if I won the lottery I'd still want to play football at any level. And yet he prefers to take his parents' cash. Outrageous.

I don't normally make assumptions, but these are the facts

1) Laudrup fixes loan deal for Donnelly to move to CCFC

2) Donnelly moves to CCFC

3) Donnelly decides to return to Swansea

4) Within 24hrs Laudrup gets the sack

Nomally I'd agree with you.
But he agreed a deal to sign for us. And instantly fucked off.
Benefit of the doubt if he was to come back relatively soon, 'personal reasons' and all that.
But it looks like he won't be back.
So fuck him.

Some smartass posted this just 8h before Laudrup was sacked:

Laudrup could be sacked any day now, so maybe Donnelly just want to be around when a new manager walks in?
