I think you may well see a game today where not a single tackle is made by us in midfield. I hope Madine and Madison can work some magic, but I sense a big defeat.

Dreadful marking by who ever was stood by the goal scorer. Other end of the pitch and couldn't see who put the non challenge in

Well we certainly didn't put up any defence to try and stop that goal...... (Couldn't quite 'tackle' a header but same principle )

Started watching MU v Newcastle. Decided to turn radio on and TV off. Bad decision.

I remember the days when match threads were huge. Ten minutes in, and about a half-dozen posts (excluding the pre-match predictions). Says it all, really.

I know there are still 88 minutes remaining but FUCKING HELL! And why bring fucking Finch in? Dreadful player. No Jackson or Swanson?

What is he, 18? And he's already a dreadful player!

It's the same on twitter, even people who don't go to games are losing interest.

Interesting position for Fleck today. Out on the left wing,

What a surprise, Maddison goes down and we don't get a pen.

12 - City have penalty appeal turned down! Maddison booked for diving but there looked to be contact! 1-0 #PUSB

Maddison booked for diving.

Isn't this his second so far this season for that?

Anybody there who saw it? sw?

Does Maddison go down because e think he'll get the ball everytime? For free kicks he seems to want them all, but I think penalties would be very very different (with OBrien around anyway after the Reda saga)

Only him and OBrien really called for it, and challenged refs decision which is usually what OBrien does for everything anyway

Yes fleck will lure the opposition RB into a false sense of security, as he is soooooooo slow their RB will become complacent and when Jackson comes on in the second half he will burn past the RB.

A midfield of Finch barton JOB & Fleck has limited creativity and virtually no goal threat - please prove me wrong by all scoring

Just out of interest, how many league pens have we had this year?

At the age of 18 yes he is a dreadful player. Are we not allowed to be critical because he's just out of nappies and from the academy. Sorry for having a fucking opinion.

Barton scored the last time we played Doncaster away although I do agree with you.

Maddison this time wins a free kick after legs taken, both CB's come forward but we take it short just as they pass where the ball is. We end up playing it back to Allsopp

I think they should both be starting. Two youth teamers in the midfield away from home doesn't fill me with too much confidence. That said Maddison is a potential game changer.

17 - City have looked the better side since going a goal down early on. Keeping the ball nicely, nothing of note apart from PK claim though.

Just the first two names show how negative our midfield tactic-wise is

No, have an opinion, but how about giving the lad more time than a handful of games, most of which played out of position. I forgot we were now a country of instant results. I don't disagree about having Swanson or Jackson in by the way.

I just don't see why he is playing 2 in front of the defence. Maybe yes we have 1 sitting there and another doing the link up with strikers.
